Fort Drum to open additional gates during morning hours
Beginning Monday January 30 two additional gates on post will open dur-
ing morning hours to give motorist alternate access to the installation and
air field and help relieve morning traffic congestion.

The Nash gate on NYS Route 26 across from the Wheeler-Sack Army Air-
field and the gate at Munns Corners and NYS Route 3a in Deferiet will be
open from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Monday through Friday to Department of
Defense ID cards holders only.

The opening of the Nash gate is expected to ease traffic along NYS Route 26 in Great Bend. The gate in
Deferiet will provide an alternate route to the airfield. These gates will not be open during the weekends or
holidays.

The other six access gates will remain unchanged.

Mt. Belvedere, Iraqi Freedom, Gas Alley and Wheeler-Sack gates are open 24 hours a day, seven days a
week.
