basic club news. We transformed
it into a 90-page, glossy, feature-

now self-sufficient and carries
luxury advertising such as Rolex
in every issue.

Hong Leong Bank
We won a tender to produce a
website for Hong Leong Bank’s
brand new Mach Card. The
challenge was to build a digital
lifestyle website for the credit card
to attract authentic interest and
promote ideas that would result
in increased use of Hong Leong
Mach cards. We conceptualised,
built, developed and generated
content for the portal entitled “the
mach life”. The card - and portal
- are aimed at a young, outgoing,
demanding demographic,
very similar to the Time Out KL
readership. When creating the
content, we utilised both original
content and repurposed the best
of our material from Time Out KL.
Delivered
An impactful, attractive and
engaging portal was delivered
on time, with extensive, on-brand
content in the areas of Travel,
Dining, Lifestyle, Nightlife and
Entertainment. Offers from Hong
Leong to their cardholders were
used to supplement and enhance
this content and drive more
business from their customers.

MGTA
The Malaysia Golf Tourism
Association is the organisation
tasked with promoting the
attractions of playing golf in
Malaysia to a worldwide audience.
Established by Tourism Malaysia in
2011, the MGTA have employed us
to create their website and in 2014
we redesigned and relaunched it
as one of the most sophisticated,
impressive golf tourism websites in
the world.

created a one of a kind guide
map which provided visitors with
essential information.

with integrated multimedia, and a

hundreds of tourist attractions in
the country, the only countrywide

One of Kuala Lumpur’s most
popular, vibrant shoping districts,
comprising of Mid Valley Megamall
and The Gardens Mall and Mid
Valley City engaged Mongoose to
create a Time Out KL guide to their
food and drink outlets.

A handbag-sized book with
recommendations and full listings
of all the food and beverage
outlets in Mid Valley Megamall, The
Gardens Mall and The Gardens
Hotel & Residence. Branded under
the name “Time Out Explore”, the
book was bundled and distributed
with the full print run of Time Out
KL. We also delivered additional
run-on copies for distribution at
the Centre Court of Mid Valley
Megamall, where thousands of
visitors picked them up. As a
result, visitors were given ideas as
to where they could spend their
money onsite.
Going Further
We have updated, reprinted and
redistributed the Time Out Explore
guide to Mid Valley City food and
drinks every quarter to ensure
copies are up-to-date.

ELLE for LPGA Special Edition
ELLE LPGA
To coincide with the fifth
anniversary of the Sime Darby
LPGA Malaysia the Client wanted
to produce a golf edition of the
ELLE magazine to be distributed
at their GALA Dinner; informing
attendees of the events during
competition week, while retaining
ELLE’s glamorous appeal.
Delivered
An LPGA edition of the ELLE
magazine was produced under
the theme of ‘Women With Drive’.
The magazine was the first of it’s
kind, and featured all of the Sime
Darby LPGA Malaysia 2014’s event
details as well as high quality
ELLE features and ELLE inspired
interviews and features, of players
and key members of the LPGA.

ELLE ROBINSONS Special Edition
ELLE ROBINSONS
Robinsons approached Mongoose
with two requirements. The first;
to attract a new and qualified
audience. The second requirement
was to reinvent their Christmas
catalogue. The project involved
multiple stakeholders, intricate
photo shoots and significant
attention to detail.
Delivered
The ELLE Malaysia team was
brought in to work with Special
Projects to co-produce an
outstanding booklet that was
inserted into the December 2014
edition of ELLE (MY). In doing so,
Robinsons were able to attract a
new sophisticated audience of
buyers. ELLE Malaysia’s award
winning design and editorial was
incorporated into every page,
resulting in beautiful and engaging
publication.

Cartier
The famous luxury brand
recognised synergy with Esquire
Malaysia. Cartier identified the
‘Manual’ section of the magazine as
an original opportunity to co-create
fitting content whilst placing Cartier
products in to the magazine’s
pages. Our challenge was to
maintain the integrity of the Manual
whilst finding innovative ways of
connecting the editorial to Cartier’s
core messages and products.

We developed a suitable theme,
allocated different models to
appropriate pages and matched
a variety of factual information,
practical guides and interesting
quotes to each model. The Cartier
content effectively highlighted
the messages Cartier wanted to
share. It was the first partnership of
its kind between the two brands,
involving international negotiation
between offices in the USA and
Paris. All parties were more than
satisfied with the results.
