Jack Comeau - A Highly-Awarded Financial Advisor For a Reason
1. Jack Comeau – A Highly-Awarded Financial Advisor for a Reason
I’d been with a financial advisor for about ten years. It was someone I really liked and someone I
trusted. But last year, he suddenly retired (it was pretty unexpected actually), and I was left wondering
where to turn.My advisor was kind enough to give me the name of two otherfinancial planners before
he left. But, one worked too far away for my preference and when I met with thesecond advisor, I came
away really not satisfied. Not only was my appointment with this person cut short by a half an hour, the
advisor made me feel he had other more important places to be and more important clients to be
concerned about. Which really turned me off (I think that would turn off anyone, right?). I don’t know –
maybe it was a bad day for him. All I know is that I still didn’t have a financial planner and I needed one.
After a couple weeks of looking around some more, a friend at workgave me the name of his advisor, a
man named Jack Comeau. My friendhad been working with Jack Comeau for a long time, I can’t
remember exactly how many years, and he actually didn’t just recommend Comeau, he praised him.
He gave me a copy of Comeau’sresume too and when I took a look at it, I liked what I saw. I liked
JackComeau’s financial planning education, and that he had been in the advising business for over
twenty years, and I likedreading all the awards Jack Comeau had earned over the years. It really seemed
like he was well-respectedin the financial world. I’ve got his resume in front of me right now and I can
see he was top producer of Sentinel Financial from 1996 to 2011 and top producer for Pinnacle Wealth
Brokers in 2012 and 2013. He even earned a philanthropy award a couple years ago for community
work here in Saskatchewan. And a compliance award in 2012.
I’ve never had any issues personally with financial advisors not complying with regulations or with doing
anything like mismanaging my assets. ButI’m on the interneta lot andI docome across articles
aboutfolks in the finance world not beinghonest and not following standards, andI certainly didn’t want
to experience anything of the sort with a new financial advisor. So seeing that Jack Comeau has won a
compliance award – and not ten years ago, but really recently – put me at ease.
What convinced me to have Comeau as my new financial advisor, was the way in which he conducted
his appointment with me when he first met me. When I walked into his office, he immediately made me
feel not just that I was an important item in his agenda, but that I was *the* most important item on his
agenda. He gave me his full attention as I explained to him my finances and my goals and, after
reviewing the details of my financial portfolio, he provided some initial recommendations that seemed
very sound and well-explained.Anyways, I have to admit, I miss my last financial advisor, but at the same
time I’m confident that Jack Comeau will lead me in the right direction.
