Earth Day 2013 a JBM-HH recycle success
On Earth Day â three days this year -- according to Roy Croom, environmental
protection specialist with Environmental Management, JBM-HH personnel helped him
collect 15 tons of paper, all of it shredded in support of Earth Day April 23, 24 and 25.
4. In addition, a little more than a ton of electronics were collected at the E-cycle event,
Croom said.
âI want to thank everyone on the JBM-HH team. This team effort helped us to
maximize the reduction of recyclables going to landfills. We collected more than 16 tons
of recyclable materials this year,â he said.
âMore importantly, we have kept the hazardous metals found in these items out of
our landfills.â Metals that are not going to landfills due to JBM-HH efforts include
aluminum, antimony, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper,
gallium, gold, iron, lead and manganese. All of these plus mercury, palladium,
