Location: North East Africa
• Its neighbors are
Chad and the Central
African Republic on
the west, Egypt and
Libya on the north,
Ethiopia, Eritrea, and
the Red Sea on the
east, and South
Sudan on the south.
• Area : 1, 881,000
square km reduced
by 25% after
separation of South.
4. Cessation of
South Sudan
• On 9th
July 2011 South
Sudan ceded from
Sudan as a result of
Comprehensive Peace
Agreement, which
ended one of longest
African war.
• This event let the
country to loose many
competitive
advantages including
petrol fields.
• The area is 25% of
former Sudan.
5. Khartoum is the
capital
• Located in the heart
of Sudan at the
conjunction of Blue
and White Nile.
• The state of Khartoum
populated with
around 5 million.
• The center of politics,
economics, industry,
and commercial
activities in the
country.

• The Nubian Kingdom in
North Sudan had witnessed
the most ancient
civilization in the history of
human being (Kush) 2500
B. C.
• Followed by Nabata and
Marawe civilizations.
• The latest occupation in
Sudan was Anglo-Egyptian
ended in 1956 when the
country achieved its
independence.

Million
• Sudanese race mixed
from indigenous
Africans and Arab.
• There are more than 500
tribes.
• Arabic, the official
language, while English
is widely used as a
second language.
• There are more than 139
dialects.
• Majority are Muslims
(97%) of totals.

• Sudanese have special
social life flourished
with popular dance;
songs and music;
folklore and heritage.
• All those expression
mechanisms would be
practiced in a certain
ceremonies of
marriages; harvesting
seasons; and voluntary
contributions to
confront crises.

several
sightseeing;
mountains; forest
and wild animals;

and specialized
faculty.

Khartoum is the
most recognized
university in
African, was
established in
1902.

oil, cotton ginning,

edible oils, sugar,
soap distilling,
shoes, petroleum
refining,
pharmaceuticals,
armaments, and

produces many
cash crops, for
instance; cotton,
groundnut, gum,
wheat, maize,
sunflower, and
pub-corn.

some of African’s
great damps such as
Alrusairis and
Marawe for irrigation
of agricultural
schemes such as
Algazeira; and
generation of
electricity.

• Since the country
has divers
weather and large
land, there are
numerous
productions of
fruits; vegetables;
legumes; and
cereals
17. Livestock
The availability of
large natural pastures
and seasonal rains in
Savannah created
optimal environment
for several livestock,
which produce milk
and meat for domestic
consumption and
exportation for
neighboring
countries.

• Port-Sudan is the
main sea port at the
Read Sea followed
by Sawakin and
Bashaier, while
Kosti is the main
river port
