 Greece    has land borders with Albania, the
  Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north,
  and Turkey to the east. The Aegean Sea lies to the
  east of mainland Greece, the Ionian Sea to the
  west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south.
 the official language is Greek
 Greece comes in the 15th place in the world
 rating of tourist destinations, since, according to
 the National Statistical Service of Greece, it
 receives more than 15 million tourists every year,
 after countries such as the USA, China, Spain and
 Great Britain.
 Greece is a famous country, popular for its clean beaches
  and its long history. There are hundreds of
  archaeological and historical sites
 They are the most popular Greek destinations, especially
  in summer. Big or tiny, green or infertile, ideal for
  cosmopolitan or relaxing vacations
 Greek cuisine is very diverse and although
 there are many common characteristics
 amongst the culinary traditions of different
 regions within the country,
 For example, the vegetarian dish "
 Chaniotiko Boureki" (oven baked
 slices of potatoes with zucchini,
 myzithra cheese and mint) is a
 typical dish in western Crete.
 Greece is one of the few places in Europe where
 the day-to-day role of folk dance is sustained.
 Occasions for dance are usually weddings, family
 celebrations, Greek taverns providing live
 entertainment often include folk dances in their
 program
 Many Greeks are very superstitious people and
 believe a lot in religion as well as in supernatural or
 paranormal phenomenon. This impresses many
 visitors who travel in Greece. For example, some
 people believe it is bad luck to see a black car, it is 7
 years bad luck to break a glass or mirror,
 National Archaeological Museum of Athens is one of
 the most important archaeological museums in
 Greece, which houses the collections of Prehistoric
 items, Sculpture, Pottery and Minor Art, Bronzes, and
 Egyptian Art.
 Athens Olympic Stadium is located in the outskirt of
 Maroussi, which is a popular tourist attraction in
 Greece. It was given a major facelift for the 2004
 Athens Olympics Opening ceremony.
 The island of Santorini Greece or Thira is located in
 the Cyclades islands, in the middle of the Greek
 Islands of the Aegean Sea. Santorini is, along with
 Mykonos and Crete, the most famous holiday
 destinations in Greece.
 Corfu is one of Greece’s most popular islands and
 attracts every year thousands of visitors. It is the
 most northern island of the Ionian Group and lies at
 the entrance of the Adriatic Sea. It is the second
 largest island of the Ionian.
 Rhodes is an island and is located in the eastern part
 of the Aegean Sea. It is also the largest Dodecanese
 islands in terms of both land area and population.
 Again the ancient Old Town of the City of Rhodes has
 been declared a World Heritage site
 The bare rocky island of Mykonos, the most easterly of
 the northern Cyclades, was once one of the most
 important trading centers in the western Aegean. its
 beautiful beaches have made it one of the most popular
 holiday islands in the Aegean.
 Metéora (“suspended in the air”) in central Greece is a
  collection of six monasteries spectacular situated on top
  of several rock pillars. The first monastery in Metéora
  was founded in the 14th century.
 Byzantine Museum is one of the finest museums in
 Thessaloniki, which houses the amazing collection of
 Byzantine art in Greece. This museum focuses on
 preserving, researching, and studying the remains of the
 Byzantine civilization.
