This document outlines the goals and activities of a local history class trip to study changes to the urban landscape over time through photography. The class of 15 students will visit historic sites around the city, including the Hayrettin Bey Serail mansion from 1926 and compare it to current photos. They will also examine the Liabey Stoa arcade to analyze how the area has transformed through new buildings, economic changes, and the role of humans. The goal is for students to understand how time, nature, and humans impact the urban environment.

2. LOCAL HISTORY CLASS – ART AND LANDSCAPE
 Visit with a group of 15 students to the city, to
mansion and workshops, new and old
market, talking with craftsmen, merchants
and shop owners.
 Purpose of this course: through attentive
observation and comparison of old and new
photos, taken by themselves, students
analyze how the city changed through time.

3. GOALS
 To make students wonder about problems
associated with life in the city
 To think about actions and initiatives in
resolving those problems
 To get familiar with the city and parts of its
history

εμπορικά καταστήματα και δίπλα στην παλιά πύλη,
συνθήματα στην πόρτα, παλιότερα οικιστική περιοχή
σήμερα κυρίως εμπορική, αρχικά ιδιοκτησία
τουρκικής καταγωγής γιαννιώτη, μετά την
αναγκαστική ανταλλαγή πληθυσμών (1924)
πουλήθηκε σε Έλληνα

16.  With this holistic approach the environmental
trail in Island acquires great educational
value and that's because all the previous
visits to the island were one-dimensional
character, and usually focused on areas and
practices that resembled more in folklore.
