Learning Activities
 Introduction
Phase 1. Provide objectives and establish set
o Teacher leads students to recall the lesson that had been learnt in
the previous meeting.
o Motivation: Here, teacher may give an illustration about daily life
problem that related with collecting data by using tally. For
example to collect data about favorite color of students in a class.
o Teacher communicates the learning objective.
o Teacher prepares the material and sets students ready to learn.
 Main Activities
Phase 2. Demonstrate knowledge or skill
o Teacher demonstrates how to collect the data by using tally.
Phase 3. Provide guided practice
o Teacher gives some problems dealing with collecting data by
using tally.
o Teacher gives times to students to solve the problems. After
that, teacher asks several students randomly to solve the
problem in front of the class.
o Teacher guides students who perform to solve the problems
correctly.
Phase 4. Check understanding and provide feedback
o Teacher asks the other students to check whether the answers
performed in the front are right or not to check student
understanding. Teacher then responds to their answers. Teacher
can emphasize praise on correct performance.
Phase 5. Provide extended practice and transfer
o At the end of the lesson, teacher gives several problems dealing
with collecting data by using tally and asks students to take them
as homework.
 Closure
o Teacher leads students to review the lesson has been learnt.
o Teacher asks students whether they have questions about the
lesson or not.
Assessment
The assessment can be done by assessing the homework handed out by the
