Itinerary in details:
Day 1: Hanoi arrival
Arrival at Noi Bai airport, our guide and driver will pick you up then transfer to hotel for relax,
you are free at leisure, overnight at hotel in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi – Duong Lam Ancient Village – Van Phuc Silk - Night train to Sapa (B,L)
08:00 Pick up at your hotel then transfer to Duong Lam ancient village about 50km away
from Hanoi. Stopover on the way to visit Tay Phuong pagoda - the best example of old typical
pagoda in the northern of Vietnam, move to visit Va temple (20 minutes) and continue to
Duong Lam village (optional riding a bike about 2km). Visit the gate, Mong Phu communal
house, one of typical local ancient house, see daily life and enjoy local products. You can also
take part in preparing the lunch with the host and learn how to make spring rolls, have lunch
here with the host.
Touring around the village to visit some cultural and historical vestiges in Duong Lam such as:
Giang Van Minh worship-house, Princess Mia Palace and Temple, Mia pagoda, Phung Hung
king's temple, Ngo Quyen king's temple and tomb
In the afternoon we back to Hanoi to visit Van Phuc Silk, the most famous traditional village
for weaving silk of Vietnam. Discover how they create the perfect silk products, a complex
technical process includes several work stages such as sewing, weaving and dyeing silk. Have
free time for shopping at Van Phuc Silk Village. You can also buy the silk products as
souvenirs to bring home.
Around 19:00 PM our guide and driver will drop you at station for night train to Sapa (4-berth
soft sleeper with Air-condition)
Day 3: Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Local Market (B)
Arrival Lao Cai station in the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up then transfer to
hotel in Sapa to check in (if room is available )
After breakfast, you will start soft trekking to Cat Cat Village which is occupied by the Black
H’mong tribe. You will experience the tribal way of life while enjoying wonderful views of the

terraced rice paddy fields and the waterfall in Cat Cat village. Coming here, you can see the
hydroelectric power station which was built by the French in twentieth century. Then you
can visit the Stone Church in the centre of Sapa, the shape and architecture of the church
was built by cross. This architecture presented in the roof, bell tower… which created the
elegant church. If you are in Sapa on Saturday night, you can join Love Market in centre
square; on that night young villagers get a chance to get to know each other by joining such
activities as playing leaf-horns, playing traditional games, singing and dancing, etc… overnight
at hotel in Sapa
Day 4: Sapa – Bac Ha Market on Sunday – night train back to Hanoi (B)
After breakfast at hotel, our guide and driver will pick you up at hotel then start our drive to
Bac Ha town. The road is relatively flat from Lao Cai to Bao Nhai bridge. After crossing the
bridge, we begin our journey up to Bac Ha. Bac Ha market, located in the heart of Bac ha
small town is the largest one in the area. Every Sunday, the different and colorful ethnic
minority come all here to sell their homemade products or buy something for the family.
They are Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities
can’t be met in any other areas.
In the afternoon, we drive downhill towards Lao Cai for about half an hour. We stop on the
way (before reaching Lao Cai) to take a short walk to Trung Do village inhabited by Tay
people. Tay villages are always set up at the foot of a mountain or along a stream and are
named after a mountain, a field, or a river. Each village contains about 15-20 households. A
large village is divided into many small hamlets. The houses are built on stilts or level with
the ground. Stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea before taking a boat cruise
upstream the Chay River. The scenery is very beautiful on both sides of the river. The boat
trip will end at Bao Nhai bridge where your vehicle will be waiting for you for the journey
back to Lao Cai. Overnight on train
Day 5: Hanoi arrival – End Tour
Arrival Hanoi in early morning, end of service ( note: today if you need to book hotel please
let us know)
