E XECUTIVE S UMMARY
School education has emerged as one of the hottest sectors for investment in
GCC region. The sector is receiving high investments and government spending.
Due to its promising growth prospects, school education sector in the GCC
region is attracting foreign education players, as well as private investors. The
GCC region is expecting high demand for private schools in future. Private
school education currently constitutes 28% of the total school education
market.
Increasing inflow of expatriates from other countries is also resulting in
increased demand for schools, which teach in English and follow international
curricula, such as International Baccalaureate. Expatriates currently constitute
more than 50% of the population in four of the six GCC countries. The growth of
the sector will also be aided by the increasing disposable income and
consumption levels of the people, and high macroeconomic growth of GCC
countries, vis-à-vis other nations.
