The Agrofood Connect-EU Group will channel the information on European RDI policies to the
agrofood agents in Catalonia, and will impact on the EC work programs together with Spanish and

Catalan representatives in European working committees and Technology Platforms, with
the ultimate goal of promoting Catalan participation in European funding programs in areas such
as agriculture, food production, valorisation of by-products, animal welfare, food safety and
the relationship between nutrition and health.                                                    15
