18. Cloud: kans of bedreiging?
Markt met ongeëvenaarde groei
IDC estimates spending on cloud
services specifically last year
was a little more than $16 billion
and predicts that it will reach
$55.5 billion by 2014.
23. Uw klant over een paar jaar
Desktopvirtualisatie is mainstream
Klant verwacht een totaaloplossing. 1 ICT dienst, 1 factuur
24. Uw klant over 5 jaar
Klanten zijn bereid meerjarige contracten afsluiten voor
ICT as a Service. (= Recurring revenue)
Cloud computing is het hoogste niveau ‘ontzorgen’!
25. Waarom kiezen klanten voor de Cloud?
Kosten
•Investeren vs. betalen voor gebruik
•Niet (altijd) goedkoper!
Flexibiliteit
•Het Nieuwe Werken
•Bring Your Own Device
Strategische keuze
Omdat de buurman het heeft
26. Hoe ga je er mee aan de slag?
– Bekabeling, networking, hardware, virtualisatie, business applicaties,
online... ga er maar aan staan!
– Make or buy?
– Alles alleen doen of samenwerken, welke partners?
– Hoe blijf je ‘up to date’?
27. Ken uw klant!

A hype cycle is a graphic representation of the maturity, adoption and social application of specific technologies. The term was coined by Gartner. A hype cycle in Gartner's interpretation comprises five phases:"Technology Trigger" — The first phase of a hype cycle is the "technology trigger" or breakthrough, product launch or other event that generates significant press and interest."Peak of Inflated Expectations" — In the next phase, a frenzy of publicity typically generates over-enthusiasm and unrealistic expectations. There may be some successful applications of a technology, but there are typically more failures."Trough of Disillusionment" — Technologies enter the "trough of disillusionment" because they fail to meet expectations and quickly become unfashionable. Consequently, the press usually abandons the topic and the technology."Slope of Enlightenment" — Although the press may have stopped covering the technology, some businesses continue through the "slope of enlightenment" and experiment to understand the benefits and practical application of the technology."Plateau of Productivity" — A technology reaches the "plateau of productivity" as the benefits of it become widely demonstrated and accepted. The technology becomes increasingly stable and evolves in second and third generations. The final height of the plateau varies according to whether the technology is broadly applicable or benefits only a niche market.
