Tanzania is working to transform its dairy value chain through partnerships between local and international organizations. In 2012, key accomplishments included:
1. Assessing the current dairy sector and identifying partners through stakeholder consultations and mapping.
2. Beginning to develop strategies to strengthen policies and improve quality assurance through the Tanzania Dairy Board.
3. Identifying pilot sites in Morogoro and Tanga regions for testing interventions based on baseline surveys.
The document outlines ongoing and planned projects and partners for 2013, with a focus on piloting adapted hub models to strengthen the dairy value chain in a pro-poor manner.
