Setting trends - a strategic area of responsibilities for the ICV
• The ICV has managed to set lasting trends since 2003, trends which draw attention
across the controller community:
- sustainable / green-controlling
=> pioneering role in the presently most important area of economic activities
- quality standards in controlling (DIN SPEC 1086)
=> accepted guidelines in German speaking region
- IFRS & Controlling
=> up till now most wanted ICV statement
- modern budgeting
=> well-established answer to the debate Beyond Budgeting
- BilMoG & Controlling
=> strictly followed and practically oriented preparation of accounting knowledge for controllers
- Levels of Impact - Model
=> international acceptance for the ICV in communication controlling
- conception of a "three-column-balance sheet"
=> ICV specialist conference, contact to IASB
- Business Intelligence
=> The ICV provides guidance for one of the future themes in controlling (WHU study)

9. And finally…
• Creation of idea workshop in 2001 and foundation of 11 specialist groups since
2003 is a success story of the ICV.
• The combination of practical experience and scientific expertise gave the ICV
potential to become a trendsetter in controlling practice.
