Promote energy efficient districts Create business centres on the “main street” Promote a transportation system that includes bicycling, walking, public transport,cars and freight Protect natural areas, parks, streams and farmland both inside and outside the urban growth boundary Work with neighbouring cities in the region to keep the separation between communities Innovative urban planning

Cleaner transportation & mobility planning Stockholm - public transport company targets to be fossil fuel free by 2021 - subway runs on electricity from renewables - buses run 25% on renewables in 2006 and 50% in 2011 - congestion charge - use of clean vehicles strongly supported (taxi companies, private users, city fleet)
