Le business et les
fondamentaux de l’IT

•
http://www.lemondeinformatique.fr/actualites/lmi/lire-les-directions-des-achats-reclament-d

  4. Based on open standards technologies and a broad ecosystem of industry partners, IBM has built SmartCloud technologies for every stage of cloud adoption. The value to our clients comes from the interoperability it enables within their own infrastructures. As all our cloud technology is built on top of a common open-standards based reference architecture, its gives our clients flexibility and choice in how they consume cloud technologies. With greater confidence that things will work together with a degree of portability….enabling a hybrid approach. Our cloud capabilities are organized into 3 simple areas. SmartCloud Foundation, the integrated set of cloud enablement technologies for private and hybrid Clouds. These are technologies that our customers can use to build their own private clouds. SmartCloud Services, the IBM cloud platform designed for enterprise-class service delivery with PaaS/IaaS managed services. IBM SmartCloud service delivery platform is built upon the very same SmartCloud Foundation technologies that are clients are using. And SmartCloud Solutions, our growing list of business and industry solutions on the Cloud offered as SaaS. Capabilities such as Collboration, B2B Integration, Digitial Marketing Optimization… all delivered via SaaS.

  6. Server-side Flash / HW-Based Flash Array: This grouping describes in-server flash or externally shared flash (SAN) with a HW-ONLY data path. SW-Based Flash Array: This grouping means that Data flows through SW, regardless of the array’s internal bus connection to flash: PCIe, SSD or Proprietary. This also means that due to the time to process lines of code, these solutions are at a much lesser levels of performance and latency. Hybrid Arrays: These are NON deterministic performance solutions, tiered architectures that usually implement flash via SSD or PCIe cards. These arrays were designed originally under disk-only solutions, with little to none design specifications to maximize the benefits of flash storage.
  7. Let's move to the last chart in my section. I want to introduce one member of the IBM FlashSystem family, the IBM FlashSystem 820. It's incredibly fast and can store 20 terabytes of data in a single rack unit, which is only 1.75 inches of rack space. In fact, you can put one petabyte which is 1000 terabytes of capacity in a single rack. It literally takes hundreds of racks to store 1 petabyte on disk. When you virtualize the FlashSystem 820, you can now get all the performance along with the advanced data protection and efficiency features of the SAN Volume Controller. I've only touched on the highlights of the June announcement for Storage; there is a lot more. Please check ibm.com/storage on announcement date to see the whole story. Thank you and I will turn it over to the next speaker.
