Transaction Management in Database Management System
Research proposal
1. Research Proposal
Done by: Hisa Ali AlAli
Improve UAE education by using assessment
and communication tools.
2. Summary of Need Analysis
• In my teaching practice of this
semester I worked in SWC with
foundation computer teachers Ms
Hajar and Ms Nawal.
• I observed that teachers want to
use another tool of assessment
than bb9.
• I notice there is luck of
communication between teachers and
student’s parents.
3. Continue
• My research topic is (improve UAE education by
using assessment and communication tools.)
In this Research I will raise the following questions:
1.What are the different assessment
tools that teacher can use in the
ipad?
2.What are the security issues they
will face with the different
assessment tools?
3.How teachers can communicate the
students’ parents to put them on
the picture of their kids’
performance using Moodle?
5. Lesson
• I will add a linear set of content
pages with video tutorials and
instructional activities that offer a
variety of paths and options for the
learner.
• I will include a variety of
questions, such as multiple choice,
matching and short answer.
6. Forum
• I will add different topics related
to assessment security issues in
discussion board to allow teachers
to discuss these issues and suggest
solutions about the tools they
tried.
• I will also hide the forum from
students.
• Files can be attached to forum
posts in case teachers have long
explanation or they get files from
internet.
7. Survey
• I will create a survey to ask
teacher about the security of
certain assessment tools they used.
Ex: Does this tool allow students to open another files and navigate
the internet browser?
• After that, I will analyze their
answer using excel and attach the
image resutl’s in the Moodle website.
By this way I gave other teachers a
clear idea about this tool.
8. Parents Enrollment
• I will give the parent permission to
view certain information, such as
activity reports, grades and forum
posts related to their kid’s work.
• To be more obvious, to keep the
website organize and avoid confusing
the parents with the website
content I will enroll them as
parent role.
• I will follow these steps (Parent
role, 2012) to create a parent Role
in Moodle for the parents.
9. My objective from this plan
• I will create lesson, Forums and
survey to give teachers knowledge
about different assessment tools in
the ipad and to facilitate decision
making for the teacher in choosing
the tools .
• The goal of family involvement in
Moodle is not merely to get families
involved, but rather to connect
important contexts for
strengthening children’s learning
and development.
• I used Moodle to collect my work
and display it in organize way during
the work shops. Also, Moodle will be
a good reference for independent
10. Measure Success of My Goals.
• I will do face to face interviews with the
teachers. I will prepare around 7
questions for roughly 10 teachers.
Before I start I will explain for
them the interview topic which is
about the feature of the
assessment tool they used.
• I will record their voice using my phone
if they accept, if not I will take
notes to collect their answers.
• I will participant in direct observation to
notice how students interact with
the assessment by taking notes and
pictures if they agree.

12. Research Methods
I will use qualitative research for several reasons.
•First, the participant from teachers will be
at the forefront of analytic discussion.
(Albon,n.d)
•Second, I will shape a variety of interactive
activities that bear on one another like the
lesson and forums topics. (Albon,n.d)
•Third, the assessment tools judgment will
be suspend until full explication of
assessment tools qualities has been made
and teacher use it with their students.
(Albon,n.d)
•Furthermore, I will use questionnaire to
gather information about the teacher’s
attitudes, thoughts and behaviors towards
what they learnt and used. (Lanthier, 2002)
•Also, I will utilize a correlation to make
14. Ethical Issues
In my research I have to take into account:
1- the approval of my audience to
take their pictures, record their voice
and include their names in my
research.
2- I have to take permission from the
school administration if I want to
take pictures, doing workshop in their
school and include their name in the
research.
