2. COPD in-patients at home
Viewcare supplies a full range of
integrated telemedicine services to
facilitate a clinicial trial investigating
the safety and efficacy of treating
COPD exacerbation in the patient’s
own home as an alternative to
admitting the patient to hospital.
The Viewcare telemedicine service
can be deployed in the patient’s own
home in less than one hour making
it a unique and attractive alternative
to acute admission to a hospital.
Our technology has proven itself to
be safe and effective and both
patients and treatment professionals
have expressed their satisfaction
with the way our technology
facilitates their remote collaboration
around treating the patient’s
condition.
Accessing doctors and specialists
from an ambulance on the move
Viewcare has developed a unique
mobile telemedicine platform, which
allows ambulance operators to
access the services of doctors and
specialists at A&E departments and
specialist wards by video and audio
link to the ambulance even when it
is on the move. This allows the right
specialist to be present for that
time-critical diagnosis which means
that the correct treatment can be
initiated and the patient taken to
the right treatment facility the first
time reducing the risk of having to
relocate the patient multiple times
during the course of an acute
treatment. In many cases the
presence of a specialist can ensure
initiation and completion of the
proper treatment on the spot and
may thus save the patient a ride on
an ambulance to hospital just to be
sent home again the same day or
next morning.
Monitoring chronic health conditions
People suffering from chronic health
conditions can benefit hugely from
monitoring their condition and
associated treatment by measuring
key health parameters in the safety
of their own home. By sharing these
measurements with remote
treatment professionals, at a
hospital or a community service
centre, treatment regimes can be
adjusted as needed to ensure that

safely and in full control in the
comfort of their own home and this
is key to maintaining a good quality
of life. This also allows community
services to redirect their resources
to other areas of need.
