   The Palm Island, Dubai - While relocated to Calgary to aid in high-rise projects efforts of NORR new affiliate firm
   PMA, Hans continued his Project Manager rôle in ensuring the Atlantis Construction Team “stayed-on-mission” at,

   Palm Island, Dubai, UAE - Feature international destination water-themed 47 hectare US$1.5 bn 220,000m resort
   on the premier manmade island chain of the Dubai coast. Project Director confided “you give a clinic” with Hans e-
   mails ensuring RFI’s and alternative proposal’s compliance was achieved. That vigilance paid-off in highest ever
   profit margins for the firm in those years. Then, when a welding accident started a major fire in the nearly
   complete hotel, the insurers could find no cause to avoid paying under their coverage. As the very grateful client
   said, ``everything had performed as it was designed to do! Thank you.”

   redevelopment agreement reached with Parks Canada and its tenant-

Palm Island, Dubai, UAE - Featured international
destination water-themed 47 hectare resort on the premier manmade island chain of the Dubai coast. This USD
1.5 billion project comprised 1539 suite linked twin hotel towers, convention centre, aquarium and retail village in
a one kilometer long building complex in a 3 kilometer long site with 108 building Waterpark, Aquaria and
amenities. First performing diligence review of WATG design at outset for Kerzner, Hans continued as Project
Manager, Codes, for the entire project, for five years while construction was completed. Hans provided life safety
and building codes compliance, permitting review, and alternatives based on international codes and primary
detail and systems selection for the overall project. As designate ongoing Project Manager, Waterpark, Hans
managed production documents of 108 buildings, and further, performed diligence reviews for emergency
services, infrastructure buildings and design-build proposal of Mitsubishi Systems monorail station. Alternative
build-out residential-hotel apartments and retail amenities studied.

Project Manager Designer, Investigation and audit of city owned property for the creation of maintenance capital
fund and the assessment of intensification potential of sites involved (City of Toronto Non-Profit Housing).
Projected capital costs, inspected all buildings on 64 sites, provided cost evaluations and wrote report
documenting the range of repairs required on a priority basis, and assessed each site’s potential for

rooms. First phase of mixed-use, three-phased development on valley side site with drop of over 80 ft. in grade.
Responsibilities included design of 137-unit configuration. The project was fast-tracked to begin construction of
foundations in three months from start of schematic design, conducted all zoning reviews, code interpretations,
application for site plan approval, selection of owner’s structural engineering consultants, schematic design and

Junior Designer - conversion of the drum-shaped lecture hall in 1977-8 of the Darling and Pearson (1907) fire
damaged building to service modern standards with restoration of fire-damaged façade retaining the vitality of this
distinctive memorial heritage building in use by the computer sciences engineering department of the campus.
Currently this hall is serving also as an evening small concert venue standing next to the larger convocation hall on
the main campus circle.

Currently this hall is serving also as an evening small concert venue standing next to the larger convocation hall on the main campus circle.
