Knowledge management has been the topic of interest in healthcare sector. Recently, KM has also embarked into New Zealand healthcare and one of the issues discussed in Health Care and Informatics Review Online Journal (Day and Orr, 2008). This is to show that knowledge sharing has been recognised to be important for healthcare to harness and reuse their knowledge constructively. The advancement of IT in healthcare New Zealand provides the opportunity for KM in healthcare New Zealand. One of efforts of healthcare to maximise the benefits gained from use their IT. This study gathers information how the IT was being used for knowledge sharing in healthcare.This study is also a preliminary study for my main research “Determinants of KMS success in healthcare”.
