- Let’s now look at how we deliver CloudSystem to clients. These offerings are all based on a single unified architecture that combines hardware, software, and services. This architecture addresses all deployment models (private, public, hybrid) and cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). CloudSystem Matrix is our base offering. It targets clients who are looking to deploy a private cloud with a focus on Infrastructure as a Service. This base configuration is built on our market-leading HP BladeSystem Matrix, which provides the means to create virtual pools of servers, storage and network. We combine Matrix capabilities with our Server Automation and SiteScope products, which provide basic application provisioning, monitoring, patching, and compliance capabilities. For clients looking to deploy a more robust private or hybrid cloud environment, we have our CloudSystem Enterprise edition. This offering, leveraging the capabilities found in CloudSystem Matrix, provides the following advanced capabilities:A single view of all services across private and public cloud environments. This is very very simple to use, you just select the app, hit ‘create service’ and then select a SP as the resource pool instead of the local CloudSystem resource poolComes with Matrix, Enterprise and SP configurationOr, if they want to maintain IT on-site for various reasons including compliance, they can leverage pay-as-you-use resources from their own private cloud. - Many clients are interested in bursting to help them meet peak demand more cost-effectively but cannot use external burst services due to compliance and security reasons. For these customers we’ve integrated CloudSystem with our Utility Ready Computing service to deliver something you can think of as ‘local burst’ capability. CloudSystem automatically turns resources on when they are needed and off when they are not. Through Utility Ready Computing, they pay for this spare capacity only when it is turned on. This service can reduce the risk of investment in underutilized equipment, smooth the acquisition process and move capital expenditures to operating expenses that are aligned with usage.
- Our approach of open, modular architectures and standards means customers can make an investment in VirtualSystem for their near term virtualization needs and add on to the same VirtualSystem to move to the cloud. So when customers are ready to expand to a fully automated, private or hybrid cloud environment, there is an upgrade path requiring no changes to the physical architecture. HP has a simplified service to help customers upgrade those investments from blades to virtualization to CloudSystem
