How fast do you eat? Do you eat so fast that your fellow diners are just getting started when you have finished? Good luck losing weight. Here are five things you can do to slow down and improve your weight loss chances.
2. How fast do you eat?
Do you eat so fast that your fellow diners are
just getting started when you have finished?
Good luck losing weight.
It takes approximately twenty minutes for your
stomach to tell your brain that you are full. If
you eat too fast, your stomach and your brain
are still at idle before the last French fry flies
down your throat. By the time your brain talks
to the stomach you look and feel like a tick.
4. Make the time to eat so you are not engulfing your
meal. The five minutes between appointments is not
conducive to slowing down.
5. Drink Water. The added water will help you slow
down and add to a fuller stomach.
6. Eat from a Smaller Plate. Eating from a smaller plate will
force you to finish whatâs on your plate before getting
seconds. The time between plates will allow you to get
fuller and rethink that second serving
7. Take a Break. Stop half way through the meal and rest your
jaw. Talk, text, stare at the wall or other patrons. Give it a
couple of minutes and then decide if you need to eat more.
8. Chew your Food. Give your stomach a break and start the
digestion process where itâs supposed to start, in your mouth.
Chewing will give your stomach a chance to process the food
and message the brain that you are satiated.
9. Enjoy Your Food
Eat slower and appreciate the food in front of you â the sight,
texture and flavors. You may find you like the food youâre
eating. Perhaps not. Either way, your will body will thank you
for not taking in more calories than it can handle.
