Rationale:
    Existence of School
Man can only be made man by
a cultural birth. This formation
can be made possible through
education.
 Education must exist because
there is a need for a human to
witness the fullness of his life.
Rationale:
    Existence of School
 Man is a “socius”, the man
must have a social setting to
become a man.
The school serve as value-
realizing institution.
The Teacher
 The teacher is the key to the
educative process.
The teacher sets the
character of the environment
in which learning takes
place.

 Role of the teacher is
to bring out what is
already in student’s
mind: reminiscence
The Teacher
 Analyze and discuss
ideas with students so that
students can move to new
levels of awareness so
that they can ultimately be
transformed.

Every learner is a
unique person

process of becoming

The search for truth
through ideas…with truth
comes responsibility to
enlighten others,
“education is
transformation: Ideas can
change lives.”
Objectives: Individual
 Help individual to live
 rich and significant lives.
 Build harmonious and
 colorful personalities.
 Help other people to live
 superior life.
Objectives: Society
1. Communication of the type-
   heritage as a gift to the young
   generation.
2. Provision for growth beyond the
   type- letting the youth learn on
   their own.
3. Synthesis- embracing ideals for
   self and society.
Methods of Instruction
Lecture from time to time, but
primary method of teaching is
the dialectic…discuss, analyze,
synthesize, and apply what they
have read to contemporary
society.

Curriculum give importance
to the study of the classics…
many support a back to the
basics approach to
education.

  • 2. Rationale: Existence of School Man can only be made man by a cultural birth. This formation can be made possible through education. Education must exist because there is a need for a human to witness the fullness of his life.
  • 3. Rationale: Existence of School Man is a “socius”, the man must have a social setting to become a man. The school serve as value- realizing institution.
  • 4. The Teacher The teacher is the key to the educative process. The teacher sets the character of the environment in which learning takes place.
  • 5. The Teacher Role of the teacher is to bring out what is already in student’s mind: reminiscence
  • 6. The Teacher Analyze and discuss ideas with students so that students can move to new levels of awareness so that they can ultimately be transformed.
  • 7. The Learner Every learner is a unique person Every learner is in the process of becoming
  • 8. Objectives of Education The search for truth through ideas…with truth comes responsibility to enlighten others, “education is transformation: Ideas can change lives.”
  • 9. Objectives: Individual  Help individual to live rich and significant lives.  Build harmonious and colorful personalities.  Help other people to live superior life.
  • 10. Objectives: Society 1. Communication of the type- heritage as a gift to the young generation. 2. Provision for growth beyond the type- letting the youth learn on their own. 3. Synthesis- embracing ideals for self and society.
  • 11. Methods of Instruction Lecture from time to time, but primary method of teaching is the dialectic…discuss, analyze, synthesize, and apply what they have read to contemporary society.
  • 12. Methods of Instruction Curriculum give importance to the study of the classics… many support a back to the basics approach to education.
