They come in many “flavours”:
1. Remote teams: separated by distance and
communication is through technology.
2. Matrix teams: individuals work across functional silos,
have multiple reporting lines and competing goals.
3. Virtual reporting teams: individuals only spend a

members of multiple teams. Manager may have „dotted
line‟ control or may operate purely through influence.
