Set the KPIs to reduce manufacturing cost; improve quality; reduce scrap and boost

Implemented the Manufacturing Action plan, creating process for goods receiving,
inventory control and to reduce excess inventory and scrap.

Technical Systems Manager
Sourced and lead the implementation of a new companywide ERP system.
Standardised business processes in Supply Chain, Sales, Operations,
Manufacturing, Finance and Management Information Reporting.
Migration of stock onto the specified ERP database system. Implementation of a
stock ordering and receipt system using excel and electronic stock ordering.
Introduced a minimum / maximum stock ordering system to enable ‘just-in-time’ stock
levels and to reduce overstock.
Provided user requirements to IT development team for new business wide ERP
system; met weekly to demo prototype releases.
Created and implemented a successful plan to shift from replenishment to supply
chain management model.
Introduced and implemented a new PC based supplier order placement process,
provided training and support to staff.
Introduced a custom ERP software management reporting system to the senior
management team. These reports were designed to isolate pricing discrepancies,

Manufacturing Manager
Responsible for the management of 55 members of staff across production, quality,
logistics and distribution.
Reconfigured the Chesterfield Units 1 and 2 manufacturing layout to enable better
flow of manufacturing processes and increase productivity. Increased production by
10% and reduced overtime by approximately 50% measured in pay cost saved.
Reviewed and implemented a time allocation system that reviewed processes and
the time needed to complete those tasks. This was tracked using an excel
spreadsheet that measured resource capacity, cost of production and efficiency.
Window production was increased by 25% over 6 months; this was sustained at the
Chesterfield Factory.
Responsible for the efficient (on time and correct) ordering of stock and managing
the total stock in the supply chain
Developed and implemented the spring balance calculator, which accurately
calculated the spring balance needed for each window configuration.
Ensured windows were built within the safety tolerances for all window components.
This system effectively removed window quality issues due to spring balance failures
resulting in no spring related complaints.
Implemented a fail-safe quality process that prevented the substitution of component
parts when the specified parts were not available.

Developed and implemented the delivery scheduling process that used ‘drop box’ to
enable sharing of information and ‘real-time’ delivery scheduling to inform and update
customers of their delivery as soon as possible.
Improved process efficiency by creating and maintaining a metrics tracking system in
Excel to track Uptime, Completion, Scrap and Labour Efficiency.
Produced and implemented the aluminium calculator for RAL colour customer orders,
this system calculated the amount of aluminium needed to be sent to the powder
coating company.
Reviewed all factory staff skill sets, producing a skill profile to enable the efficient
utilisation of staff across all manufacturing processes and tasks.
Developed and implemented the van driver handbook, including accident reporting
guidance, insurance details, expected conduct of drivers during their duties, i.e. rest
periods, mobile phone use, how to deal with customers.

April 2003 – November 2004
Developed business accounts with the motor trade customer base; a large customer
base transferred their accounts from Road and Rally to Minorfern. This reflected the
dedicated customer service and account management I provided. The sales for these
customers were approximately £250,000 per year.
Provided customer service and account management to the motor trade customers
based in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire.
Developed and managed the customer discount and pricing list for the customer
base.
