Exmark lawn mowers have been built to last through alot of abuse which comes withthem being
used for eight hour days and up to seven days per week. Although these mowers are built to the
toughest standards it is very important to maintain them properly. A poorly maintained mower will
fail alot faster than one that has been looked after with great care. When searching for your next
used Exmark it is important to make sure that you will not need to put alot of money into replacing
  parts after your purchase.

Here are a few things to look out for:

Blade spindle bearings - Make sure there is no movement when you wiggle the pulley up and down.
Any movement and you will need to replace the spindle housing.

Belts - Check for cracks, small tears and missing rubber. These are all signs that the belt is not in
good condition and will need to be replaced.

Hydro pumps - If the deal seems to good to be true it's probably bad or leaky hydro pumps. These can be very costly to repair or replace. Those little pesky leaks
  ALWAYS turn into pump failure.

Engine - The engine should always run at a constant speed and should sound smooth. Erratic changes in engine speed could mean problems but are probably
due to the engine needing some minor adjustments, new spark plugs or a clean air filter.

Tires - You will probably find a few tire plugs in the tires but I would worry about those. Just make sure there are no plugs in the sidewalls of the tires. Also look
for large bubbles on the inside of the sidewalls. The older tires on the Exmarks tended to form bubbles which deformed the tires and made the mowers very
  bumpy and uncomfortable to use.

I have a zero degree mower (exmark). When I start it up as soon as I release the brake, it kills.?
I’ve changed the starter and it still does the same thing. I’ve checked the wires and everything look ok. I want to put it in the shop but it will take weeks before getting it back.
Anyone has suggestions for me. Please help.
I can get it to start from the cylonoid switch. Once I release the brakes or turn on the blade the engine kill.

Its a safety switch issue. Make sure the seat switch is working properly. On every mower there has to be the break engaged or the operator in the seat for the engine to
run. If the switch is not working, the mower thinks that no one is on it, so it shuts down. The deck will not run unless there is someone in the seat, period.

Exmark or Cub Cadet zero turn mower preference question?
I’m in the market for a zero turn mower, It will be used for residential only. I own a little under 2 acres and cut a neighbor or 2′s lawn a few times a month. I’m looking for
some suggestions on what to pick up. My budget is $5000. I think i have it narrowed down to 2 mowers but am open other suggestions. I can get my hands on a new Cub
Cadet 54 Enforcer for 5K with 2 year warranty or a used Exmark Lazer Z 48 with just over 100 hours for $4200. Any suggestions or recomendations? Also if you would please
give some ammo why you would choose one or the other. I’m an engineer and constantly have to ask why. Thanks in advance!
Homeowner says the Exmark was used for his lawn only, was purchased in 2007 and maintenance was performed regularly.

Does Toro make Exmark brand lawn mowers?
why, when changed the name or what happened? as i remember Toro was the most popular lawn mower brand for large professional lawn mower companies..and then
everyone switched to Exmark..but heard that Exmark was bought out? by toro or toro marketed under this name? if so, why? or how different Exmark was from Toro brand
 mowers?

 also, when this happened again?

also, is Kubota the new brand that is pushing out Exmarks now? as seem Kubota lawn mowers much more now.

when, why this became the case too and why?

 thanks for your answers!

Exmark Manufacturing Co., incorporated in 1982, makes their own lawnmowers but is a subsidiary of Toro. Kubota does have a lawnmower line, but that is the only lawn
equipment they do make. They specialize more in tractors and heavy equipment-no relation to Exmark.

I’d start there. Toward the bottom of the page it says “Exmark also manufactures a wide selection of professional mower accessories, including everything from
collection and mulching systems to light kits, sunshades and cup holders.”

How much should I pay for a used 2007 Exmark zero turn lawn mower?
Considering buying one of two used ones I’ve found in Michigan. They are 2007 Exmark Lazer Z CT 48″ cut with less than 200 hours. Both seem in very good shape and only
used for the homeowners residence. Thanks in advance!
I saw online what some dealers are selling them for. I am more interested in what some guys in the industry think the unit would really be worth.

   a CT48″ 2007 don’t know the hours was $ 7,231.00

Exmark mower safetys problem?
We have a Exmark Laser zero turn mower. We replaced the battery, and replaced a blown fuse after it stopped working. It now starts, but every time we release the parking
brake or engage the throttle bars, the mower shuts off. We figure something is wrong with the safeties but have no idea what to look at first. Any suggestions?

The first thing I would do is check the oil, and change it. While I was changing the oil I would check the free travel of the blades. Blow or wash the dead grass out of the
mower, and check the screen on the fly wheel. Also check the idler pulley, on the mower it could be short a bearing.
Possible that you have some bad gas. Air cooled engines don`t run their best on what one buys at the pump now. Might need to add something. I am not too sure that
corn is not better for pigs than gasoline engines.

Exmark mower….?
My husband and I are looking to purchase a new lawn mower and he is interested in the Exmark mower. We have a pretty large area to mow, therefore the 60 inch cut
wouldn’t be a bad thing. It’s just a LOT of money in my opinion. Does anybody have any “pros and cons” for me about this mower?

Thank you in advance.

Although these mowers are built to the toughest standards it is very important to maintain them properly. A poorly maintained mower will fail alot faster than one that has been looked after with great care. When searching for your next used Exmark it is important to make sure that you will not need to put alot of money into replacing parts after your purchase. Here are a few things to look out for: Blade spindle bearings - Make sure there is no movement when you wiggle the pulley up and down. Any movement and you will need to replace the spindle housing. Belts - Check for cracks, small tears and missing rubber. These are all signs that the belt is not in good condition and will need to be replaced. Hydro pumps - If the deal seems to good to be true it's probably bad or leaky hydro pumps. These can be very costly to repair or replace. Those little pesky leaks ALWAYS turn into pump failure. Engine - The engine should always run at a constant speed and should sound smooth. Erratic changes in engine speed could mean problems but are probably due to the engine needing some minor adjustments, new spark plugs or a clean air filter. Tires - You will probably find a few tire plugs in the tires but I would worry about those. Just make sure there are no plugs in the sidewalls of the tires. Also look for large bubbles on the inside of the sidewalls. The older tires on the Exmarks tended to form bubbles which deformed the tires and made the mowers very bumpy and uncomfortable to use. Todd B Reply February 22, 2012 at 7:00 pm (Edit) Its a safety switch issue. Make sure the seat switch is working properly. On every mower there has to be the break engaged or the operator in the seat for the engine to run. If the switch is not working, the mower thinks that no one is on it, so it shuts down. The deck will not run unless there is someone in the seat, period. Anonymous Reply February 12, 2012 at 1:59 am (Edit) Exmark or Cub Cadet zero turn mower preference question? I’m in the market for a zero turn mower, It will be used for residential only. I own a little under 2 acres and cut a neighbor or 2′s lawn a few times a month. I’m looking for some suggestions on what to pick up. My budget is $5000. I think i have it narrowed down to 2 mowers but am open other suggestions. I can get my hands on a new Cub Cadet 54 Enforcer for 5K with 2 year warranty or a used Exmark Lazer Z 48 with just over 100 hours for $4200. Any suggestions or recomendations? Also if you would please give some ammo why you would choose one or the other. I’m an engineer and constantly have to ask why. Thanks in advance! Homeowner says the Exmark was used for his lawn only, was purchased in 2007 and maintenance was performed regularly. . Reply February 12, 2012 at 4:02 am (Edit) Does Toro make Exmark brand lawn mowers? why, when changed the name or what happened? as i remember Toro was the most popular lawn mower brand for large professional lawn mower companies..and then everyone switched to Exmark..but heard that Exmark was bought out? by toro or toro marketed under this name? if so, why? or how different Exmark was from Toro brand mowers? also, when this happened again? also, is Kubota the new brand that is pushing out Exmarks now? as seem Kubota lawn mowers much more now. when, why this became the case too and why? thanks for your answers! Hondu Reply February 12, 2012 at 10:23 pm (Edit) Exmark Manufacturing Co., incorporated in 1982, makes their own lawnmowers but is a subsidiary of Toro. Kubota does have a lawnmower line, but that is the only lawn

Trina J Reply February 14, 2012 at 6:16 pm (Edit) Does anyone know of a place that sells used attachments for exmark mowers anywhere close to Anderson, Indiana? oklatom Reply February 16, 2012 at 10:37 am (Edit) http://www.lawnmowerfacts.com/exmark.html I’d start there. Toward the bottom of the page it says “Exmark also manufactures a wide selection of professional mower accessories, including everything from collection and mulching systems to light kits, sunshades and cup holders.” Anonymous Reply February 23, 2012 at 5:24 pm (Edit) How much should I pay for a used 2007 Exmark zero turn lawn mower? Considering buying one of two used ones I’ve found in Michigan. They are 2007 Exmark Lazer Z CT 48″ cut with less than 200 hours. Both seem in very good shape and only used for the homeowners residence. Thanks in advance! I saw online what some dealers are selling them for. I am more interested in what some guys in the industry think the unit would really be worth. HOOK Reply February 25, 2012 at 9:39 am (Edit) In the neighborhood of $ 6,500.00 – $7,000.00 I found dealers on used machines, a CT 48″ 2006 with 100 engine hours was $5,500.00 a CT48″ 2007 don’t know the hours was $ 7,231.00 Anonymous Reply February 24, 2012 at 1:51 pm (Edit) I have an exmark commercial mower 36″ walk behind, with a? We have a Exmark Laser zero turn mower. We replaced the battery, and replaced a blown fuse after it stopped working. It now starts, but every time we release the parking brake or engage the throttle bars, the mower shuts off. We figure something is wrong with the safeties but have no idea what to look at first. Any suggestions? Anonymous Reply February 26, 2012 at 4:39 am (Edit) overheating fix EXMARK ZERO TURN MOWER? we have a commercial exmark zero turn mower that turns off when it gets to hot and i cant afford to take it to repair shop. so i need advice as to what to check or what website can help. George O Reply February 26, 2012 at 2:31 pm (Edit) The first thing I would do is check the oil, and change it. While I was changing the oil I would check the free travel of the blades. Blow or wash the dead grass out of the mower, and check the screen on the fly wheel. Also check the idler pulley, on the mower it could be short a bearing. Possible that you have some bad gas. Air cooled engines don`t run their best on what one buys at the pump now. Might need to add something. I am not too sure that corn is not better for pigs than gasoline engines. LIPPS Reply February 27, 2012 at 8:42 am (Edit) Exmark mower….? My husband and I are looking to purchase a new lawn mower and he is interested in the Exmark mower. We have a pretty large area to mow, therefore the 60 inch cut wouldn’t be a bad thing. It’s just a LOT of money in my opinion. Does anybody have any “pros and cons” for me about this mower? Thank you in advance.
