The Yarra Swim Co. aims to organize the annual 'Race to Prince's Bridge' open water swimming event to achieve economic, environmental, and social objectives. Specifically, the event aims to: honor the river's history, strengthen Melbourne's identity as a sporting capital, contribute to the economy. Environmentally, they seek to improve the river's usability, health, and safety through projects and supporting organizations. Socially, they want to encourage pride in the river, question views of it as polluted, and promote community health.

Our Purpose
To organise the annual ‘Race to Prince's Bridge’, and through this event:
 Contribute positively to Victoria’s economy and strengthen the identity of Melbourne as the
sporting capital of Australia through the reinstatement of a world-class open water swimming
event
 Encourage physical activity and, in doing so, promote community fitness and wellbeing
 Honour the Yarra River's past through the revival and celebration of a forgotten tradition
To rekindle Melburnians’ sense of connection to, and pride in, the Yarra River
To support existing organisations which are acting to improve the recreational usability, ecological health
and public safety of the Yarra River
To design, implement or support projects which aim to improve the recreational usability, ecological
health and public safety of the Yarra River
To encourage Melburnians to question the concept of a permanently polluted Yarra River and promote a
concerted push by decision makers to improve the recreational usability, ecological health and public
safety of the Yarra River

improve the recreational usability, ecological health and public safety of the Yarra River

 Rekindle Melburnians’ sense of connection to, and pride in, the Yarra River
