This is part #1 of a sermon series on "Types of Christians." In this series we are examining the character of Christians through the eyes of Old Testament people. This week's person was Lot. The "Lot Christian" is someone who sees the physical and leaves the secure."

3. What Did Lot See? “And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar.” (Genesis 13.10; ESV)

4. Who was Lot? Abraham’s nephew (Genesis 12.5; 13.1) Lot appears to be wealthy. (Genesis 13.5-7) Lot was given a choice.

5. What Did Lot Choose? “So Lot chose for himself all the Jordan Valley, and Lot journeyed east.” (Genesis 13.11; ESV)

6. Consequences of Lot’s Choice? Kidnapped during war. (Genesis 14.1:16) Rioted against (Genesis 19.4-10) Loss of possessions (Genesis 19.24, 25) Loss of his wife (Genesis 19.26)

7. Are you like Lot? Have you left the secure for the physical? Have you been given a “second chance?” What will you do with your decisions today?
