2. A Brief Introduction
Crocodile was founded off the back of a personal tragedy of
one of the founder’s parents being flooded not once but twice
inside a twelve month period. After seeing his parents first
hand being flooded and decades of not just material belongings
gone forever but irreplaceable items such as their wedding
album and mementoes all gone in a wave of filthy
contaminated flood water. After 9 months of re-building their
home back to somewhere close to a finished standard the flood
waters struck again. They completely devastated the ground
floor of their home and his mother’s beloved garden was a sea
of filthy sludge that the waters had left behind.
After contacting their insurance company to make another claim,
they were informed that they would no longer be insurable
against flooding. This was a major blow as not only were they
not insured any more but they had lost the option to sell up and
move out of the area.
After struggling to find a company that was interested in
helping a single home owner find a solution to their problem
Crocodile Flood Solutions Limited was born. The prime
objective of the company is to offer affordable flood solutions
to any home owner that needs help finding a solution to this
ever increasing problem.

Flood Facts
The British mentality is that people get flooded 3 times
on average before they will implement some form of
defence against flood water entering their home.
You are more likely to get flooded than burgled.
25% of flooding occurs outside areas formally designated as
being flood prone.
Around 5.2m (one-sixth) of properties in England are at risk of
flooding. More than 2.4m properties are at risk of flooding
from rivers or the sea, of which nearly 0.5m are at significant
risk, and 1m of these are also vulnerable to surface-water
flooding. Further 2.8m properties are susceptible to surface-
water flooding alone.
55% of those living in flood-risk areas know they are at risk.
4. The Cost of a Flood
The Association of British
Insurers (ABI) says that
the average cost of flood
damage to homes is
between £20,000 and
£40,000.
After severe flooding it
can take up to 12
months for a property
to dry out completely.
5. Our Products
The Water Door makes use of two permanently-fixed
Vertical channels fitted either side of the doorway.
This then allows the Aluminium panels to be dropped into
position so that when deployed, a barrier up to 1600mm
High and up to 2500mm wide is ready to protect your property
The Water Door Flood Defence
Barrier has been developed to
provide the same quick and
convenient method of "building" a
water tight flood barrier, but
specifically designed for the smaller
domestic residential and
commercial doorways.
The Water Wall Flood Defence Barrier
has been developed as a quick and
convenient method of "building" a
water tight flood barrier that can be
easily erected in the event of a flood
and also dismantled and stored away
when the danger has passed.
Suitable for installation to both
residential and commercial property.
Water Wall makes use of two
permanently-fixed vertical channels
fitted either side of the opening to be
protected.
Pre-installed unobtrusive ground
fixtures to allow the Patented "Twist
and Lock" post system to be put in
place.
Aluminium panels are then
dropped into position so that when
deployed, a barrier up to 1600mm
high for any required span in
excess of 2500mm wide is ready to
protect your property.

6. Anti-Flood Airbricks allow unrestricted airflow
underneath the property, but under flood
conditions they are automatically shut off by the
rising waters. Unlike sand bags and covers, no
flood warning or pre flood intervention is required
allowing the end user to 'Fit and Forget'.
There are a variety of cost-effective Airbrick
Covers in the market place, but all are
designed for the same purpose - to prevent
ingress of rising flood water. During a flood,
standard airbricks can allow thousands of
litres of water into a property within a matter
of minutes, up to 50,000 litres per hour per
airbrick.

7. Before
Nano Shell is formulated using
revolutionary scientific advances in
nanotechnology.
Once nano Shell's performance coatings
are applied, the delivery medium starts to
evaporate to leave the nano particles that
are "welded together" with the substrate.
This creates an incredibly hard, long-
lasting protection that is unrivalled
compared to traditional protective
coatings.
Invisible Coatings: clear, colourless &
waterproof, the coatings last for up to 25
years
After
Performance Coatings prevent water
damage, mould, salt and UV damage and
much more
Flood Protection: improve the thermal
efficiency of stone and masonry by
preventing water ingress
Nano Coatings are non-toxic, 100%
biodegradable with no damage to the
environment
Protective Coatings maintain the natural look
of the surface for longer

8. Backwater Valve - Anti flooding device
An anti-flooding device for use in horizontal pipes. The unit closes the pipeline
automatically when backflow occurs.
- Protects effectively against:
- Flooding of low-level rooms by back-flowing wastewater
- Rodent penetration into buildings through sewage pipes
- Unpleasant smells from unused piping systems
- Operates fully automatically, no external power-supply needed
- Resistant to aggressive effects from most chemicals and hot wastewaters
Maintains full flow capacity of the sewage system Is easy to operate and to
maintain Backwater (non-return) valves are installed in horizontal drain pipes
before a drainage-system outlet from a building, or in the house drain pipe, prior
to its connecting to external sewer. Ideally mounted in inspection chambers
9. The Backwater Valve is a passive flood protection solution it:
Operates fully automatically, no external power supply needed
Substitutes an inspection chamber, mounted at sewage system outlet
from building
Resistant to effects chemicals and to hot wastewaters
Permits temporary blocking of wastewater flow (for overhaul works)
Will Maintain full flow capacity of the sewage system
Easy to operate and to maintain
Has 2 year manufacturer's guarantee
50mm Backwater Valve
An anti-flooding device protecting interiors
from flooding caused by backflow of
sewage. Such risk exists most frequently in
sanitary drain systems connected to
combined and other sewage systems.
The 50mm backwater valve is an ideal anti-
flooding device for protecting interiors from
flooding caused by backflow of wastewater
in all drainage-related systems such as
washing basins, kitchen sinks, shower bases
and dishwashing machines.
10. Re-pointing of brickwork and service point sealing
Lab Test: Improvement in Flood Resilience/Resistance
A single skin brick wall was constructed, using standard
Felton bricks, 5:1 sand: cement render & plasticiser.
This wall was then left to dry naturally for 12 months,
allowing for stabilisation of the structure and better
representing a real-world exterior wall.
A large scale water pressure tube of 120mm diameter
was constructed and attached to the wall by means of a
water proof sealant. For each stage of the test, the
tube was filled with water to a height of 600mm and
the water level was allowed to reduce over time, while
the results were monitored and recorded.
The test was performed 3 times. Untreated Wall / Ma-
sonry Protection only / Masonry Protection + Repoint-
ing.
11. Results of Brick- work:
The results of the test for each different stage were as follows:
Untreated Wall – The first test showed the untreated wall suffered from severe wa-
ter penetration under pressure. Water droplets could be seen on the other side of
the wall within 5 seconds. The water level had dropped by more than 300mm, or
50% of the original height, within 6 minutes. It took 8 minutes 23 seconds for the
water level to drop to 200mm.
Masonry Protection – The second test showed that Masonry Protection on its own
does provide a benefit to flood resistance at lower pressures. Initial flow rates at
600mm were similar to test 1 but it took 8 minutes 49 seconds to reach 300mm, an
additional 3 minutes 23 seconds more than test 1. It took more than double the time
of test 1 for the water height to reduce to 200mm at 18 minutes and 35 seconds.
Masonry Protection + Repointing – The third test showed that Masonry Protection
used on a wall that had been repointed, provides a tremendous benefit to flood re-
sistance at all tested pressures. The water level did not change at all during the
measured period.
Conclusion It doesn’t matter if you have the best flood barriers in the world, if you don’t
treat your walls and seal service entry points then the water WILL get in to your home
12. “Last winter was a really bad one for us. The drains around our property don’t seem to be
able to cope with heavy downpours. The area where we park our cars and the garden as a
whole was flooded several times. On one occasion the water actually got into the house it-
self.
This was disastrous; it caused our electric to close down and made the ground floor of the
house inhabitable. We lost a lot of our furniture and it has taken months to get back to
normal.
We have now decided to get prepared in case this happens again. We called Crocodile and
took advantage of their free flood assessment. Lee who came out to see us was absolutely
fantastic. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough”.
Mrs Smith-Lowdham, Nottingham.
“We own a small public house in Windsor which has been flooded several times, although
we had been pretty lucky for a few years until the beginning of 2014 when we were hit very
badly.
We lost an awful lot of business and it has taken us months to fully clean up and dry every-
thing out. We wanted to be better prepared for the next time we are hit by severe weather
so we started shopping around on the internet.
We gave 2 or 3 people a call and Crocodile were the most friendly and helpful of the bunch.
We have taken advantage of their free flood assessment and are looking forward to some-
one coming out to see us in the next few weeks to advise on the best solutions”.
