Connected Packaging Industry (CPI) –
this is the name of the smart software
solution from Bosch for Track & Trace
and much more. It not only manages
serialization from the allocation of the
serial numbers right through to the last
aggregation step. You can also connect
single components, packaging lines and
complete factories.
The Track & Trace suite is desig-
ned in the form of a distributed
system, the individual compo-
nents of which offer defined inter-
faces. By means of this concept
individual parts can be very easily
expanded, adapted or exchanged.

2. Bosch offers machine modules and software either as an integrated application
from a single source or as an IT solution combined with hardware from third-party
suppliers. The flexible system meets all serialization requirements and ensures a
reliably connected serialization process.
The IT solution for Track & Trace
Import Manager
Import of serial numbers (e. g. China, customer…) and as management of self-generated serial numbers
Serial Number Pool Management
Storage of external and self-generated serial numbers as well as display of status (in-use, used, unused serial
number)
ID Generator
Development of complex serial numbers (numerical, alphanumerical) for production (central, local or cloud) and
also combination of serial numbers
Export Manager
Export of serialization/aggregation data in different formats (e. g. China, Turkey, Europe) or customer-specific for
e.g. contract manufacturer to transfer data to the customer
Management Cockpit – Line Overview
Summarized visualization of all packaging lines and their locations in a dashboard (Andon)
Station Status
Real-time overview of activities of the locations and their status: e.g. current speed of the machine filling level of
ink, production status counter (good/bad), early warning system, push messages (email or text message)
Batch Management (PO)
Real-time status of current productions, insight into batch-report, historical batch data for traceability, long term
archiving
User Administration
Rights management for every user individually. Connection to Microsoft Active Directory possible.
