This document discusses how cloud computing uses excess IT capacity from existing servers through Greenclouds to reduce pollution and costs associated with building new servers. Greenclouds aggregates unused capacity across many servers so that new computing needs can be met without constructing additional machines, which would produce more carbon dioxide and waste existing infrastructure that is already 90% empty. By utilizing current resources more efficiently through Greenclouds, there is no need to build new servers that contribute to environmental damage and higher costs.
