offers you to visit the “Wine House Gurjaani”. An exciting local experience awaits you here,
which will give you in-depth understanding of Georgian traditions.
You will get an impression of how wine is made in private houses. In a traditional Georgian wine
cellar, called “marani”, you take out and taste homemade wine kept in a “kvevri” (amphora) built
into the ground. The landlord will lead the wine tasting for you. You will have a wonderful oppor-
tunity to bottle Georgian wine yourself in the old wine cellar.
Furthermore, you will attend the process of baking the Georgian bread “Shoti”, as well as the
confection of the traditional Georgian dessert “Churchkhela”. Also, you will have the possibility
to participate in the dinner preparation process and study some of the recipes of the Georgian
cuisine.
You will enjoy dinner in a warm-hearted environment, which will make you familiar with Georgi-
an table culture. You will be initiated into the rules of a classical Georgian table: Besides a range

troduced into the art of “Khinkali” making (meat dumplings), which is handed down from genera-
tion to generation. Test your own skills and taste the result with a glass of locally brewed beer.
