What to Expect... Your first 500 hours will consist of learning the fundamentals of Hair Cutting, Styling, Chemical Texture, and Hair Color. It is imperative that you not miss class. Class will start at 9 am to 12:30 pm with a break in the discretions of the Educator. For Full Time Students a New Class will continue at 1 pm and end at 5 pm. Evening Students class starts at 5:30 p to 9:30 p. After Basics, you will graduate to the Salon, where you will work on Guests to gain the hands on experience. Seniors will attend the continuance of Theory. These classes will range from learning Advance Color on Formulations, to Business classes on building your Clientele, to Advanced Cutting Techniques. You will be constantly learning, and improving on your skills. With these classes and workshops we will also prepare you for your State Boards.
Dress it up!!! Uniforms are Black or White tops (with appropriate undergarment for the Ladies, and Shirts must have sleeves) and Black Slacks (NO WHITE PANTS), Shoes are to beclosed toed shoes only. – Points will be deducted, if not followed.
Swipe Cards…Lost swipe card? Please let The Secretary know, and there is a $10 charge for a new card. Remember to be responsible for your swipe card. We can’t altar hours for any reason.

Be prepared… Theory Book, Work book, & 2 Mannequins (1 Short & 1 Long…. Depending on class) also Combs, Brushes, Blowdryer, Clippies, Color Bowl & Brush, Color Bottle, Binder for Projects, Pencil, Paper (lined), Highlighter (Yellow), etc.-Points will be deducted, if not followed.
Lockers...are provided, however, each student is responsible to bring their own lock. Please keep valuables locked up when you are not using them. The School is not responsible for locker combinations or keys. Please have a spare pair somewhere.

Breaks & Lunch 8 hour day: ½ hour lunch and two 15 minute breaks.4 hour day: One 15 minute break.-Clock out for lunch, and clock back in for the remainder of your day (8 hours)We CAN NOT eat in the Classroom, Break room ONLY. Tests and Make up WorkTests and Practical scores may not be completed the same day that they are given. Every Student will have privacy for their personal scores. If you are ABSENT please get info from a friend.If you are redoing through the class again you will be responsible for everything that is given as an assignment and any Mannequin work will be performed by you during the class. If you a Senior retaking the class please write down questions you might have and give to me after class you will be responsible for everything that is given as an assignment and any Mannequin work will be performed by you during the class. No Student should be sitting in the session just taking in the info be proactive in the learning experience.
Graduation requirements... begin accruing from the first day of school. All tests (both written and practical) must be taken and passed with a 75% or higher. All projects and requirement sheets must be completed in full in order to be eligible to graduate, and 1500 hours of documented hours of attendance.
Model Day & Student Services-Models need to be 18 years or older.-No Correctional Services. (Services longer than 1 ½ hours.)-Cost of product $8 per 2 oz**** Price subject to change.
Not a Personal Stylist, your EducatorExcessive use of my talent for your personal gain is not permitted. I will be glad to assist another Student to an idea I have, but will not lend out my time through the whole service. Nor will I accept Family members asking me to do their hair for them.
Sanitation is an important part of this career. All students are responsible forsanitizing their own implements, equipment and stations after each client. At theend of each shift we all help in the sanitation of the school. Everyone is given asmall job, and we all leave at the same time, after everything is clean andorganized. This is a requirement of the State of Illinois for you to complete at the end of each day 30 minutes of Sanitation. Clean as you go is my motto. Then there is less work for you later… -Points will be deducted if not completed.
