1. Here’s a question: Are you getting the best out of your learning platform?
2. Why use the framework? The three most commonly-asked questions we get from schools are: How are we doing? How are we doing compared with other Frog schools What do we do next?
3. Steps to success Frog’s School Improvement Framework has been designed with the whole school in mind. The process outlined here is how your dedicated Frog team might use this framework. Whether you’re part of the team or not, you can click on ‘connect’ or ’ideas’ at any time to get inspired about using Frog in school!
4. Get leadership backing Whole school change cannot happen without the back of the head. If this is you, congratulations! If you’re not the head then familiarise yourself with the framework and the benefits it offers. Then, go and show the head this site.
5. Team up Frog is not a one-person job. This framework provides the tools to monitor and manage a team of people using a living action plan. This team must include the SLT and ideally the head too. It must also include teachers based on their interest areas and roles, not just an enthusiasm for technology.
6. Where am I? You can’t manage what you can’t measure. Go through each category in the framework and evaluate where you are. Ideally you should do this in a group; you’ll be surprised how different other people’s perspectives are from yours. It’s also important to get them involved in this and going through the evaluation together is an excellent starting point.
7. What next? Be clever about what areas/categories you want to focus on. Make sure you what you are doing aligns with your School Development Plan. Don’t do anything just for the sake of it, as you will lose credibility if people think you are tinkering. Allocate responsibilities for different areas to whoever is the most appropriate.
8. What next? Set up goals and actions – use our Frog Trumps for inspiration and ideas, or connect with other schools to share ideas quickly. Don’t underestimate the value of ‘quick wins’. Make your action plans viable and transparent so that everyone knows where they can get involved and what you’re aiming for.
9. Check your progress Put some dates in the diary to regularly review as a team how you’re doing against your action plan. You can print your results at any time and share them with your SLT and governors to show them how well you’re using Frog and how you’re going to develop it further. Ticking off the actions in your plan isn’t the end of it – this is not a one off exercise.
