We celebrated Teen Read Week October 14th – 18th with daily trivia
questions, a visit from the YCPL bookmobile and teen program
coordinator, and two reading incentive opportunities. The Junior Book Award
Program (Edmodo: 5d6vek) and the Winter Reading Challenge (Edmodo:
dqujxi) were both introduced. To read more about Teen Read Week at
Sullivan, read our school blog entry at http://tinyurl.com/SMSteen
Junior Civitans used the reference room to create posters for their annual
canned food drive.
Mrs. McLean and Mrs. McManus hosted two “APPy Hour” sessions for
teachers, where Mr. Salisbury coached us on using Haiku Deck, Mrs. McLean
demonstrated the new and improved Prezi app, and Mrs. McManus discussed
our library’s digital holdings and library apps.
Mrs. McKinney and Ms. Gossett’s 8th grade ELA classes used the reference
room to complete learning activities.
Approximately 95 eighth graders took the PSAT in the library.
Mrs. Knopf’s National History Day academy worked on outlines using the
library computers.
