Mrs. Knopf’s National History Day academy used library computers to work on
projects.
Eight grade science classes began their research on the planets and other
astronomical delights. Mrs. McManus showed them how to use Symbaloo
bookmarks and helped them determine what did (nearly everything) and did not
(common knowledge) need bibliographic citations.
Mrs. McManus and helper elves reset all school iPads, cleaned up the accounts
and updated to iOS 7.0.4.
Mrs. McLean and Mrs. McManus hosted two “APPy Hour” sessions for
teachers, where Ms. Johanson showed us how to use PicCollage and other apps to
create graphic organizers and Mrs. Knowles demonstrated how she uses Kidblog to
help her students create digital portfolios.
We had a very successful Scholastic book fair where we sold over $2,700 in books
and fun goodies. Students had a great time trying to win posters and other prizes
with our “Pick a Pop” game and our administrative staff had a friendly compitition
to sell the books they book talked. It made for a fun week on our news show and
in the book fair. Our school earned $600 for our library, which will be used to host
library events and purchase books.
