Analysis Authorization:
Analysis Authorization is the new authorization concept for Analysis that is
essentially based on Business oriented security requirements. Here, the highlight is
on data security. Listed below are some of the important improvisations in 2004s
over the 3.x versions are as below.
1) Maintenance – In 2004, authorization objects can be revoked but are not
changeable at a later point in time, but in 2004s these objects are changeable.
2) Authorization relevance – Is now only on the infobject setting as against
infoobject and infocube setting in 2004.
3) Composition of Authorizations- Earlier only an intersection of authorizations
was permitted where as now a union is allowed. In the screen shot attached
below, there are two authorization objects on the same info object
ZCUSTOMER. The result is a Union of both.
4) Authorization on navigational attributes: In 2004s authorization on
navigational attribute was on global basis, whereas now in 2004s these are
based individually.
Consider the example of 0Country being navigational attribute of sales
organization. Here 0Country has been set as authorization relevant .Refer
figure below.

2. Analysis Authorization
Also note that the referencing characteristic (here 0D_SALE_ORG) need not
be authorization relevant.
5) Number of objects – Is unlimited in 2004s as against only 10 fields of 10
characters in 2004 version.
6) Hierarchy Authorization- Earlier this was done using GUID and
0TCTAUTHH
Whereas in 2004s this is done using value authorizations
