Erin Albrecht is an environmental health and safety intern at her university who has been working on standardizing department work instructions and organizing the environmental health and safety documents and plans. She has created a centralized electronic filing system on SharePoint that organizes documents by department and building according to records retention schedules. This makes important documents easier to access, update and maintain compliance. She has also implemented a 5S strategy to organize the environmental library and order and clean the space. Additionally, she has created spill prevention control and countermeasure plan kits for different areas to prepare for and properly respond to spills to prevent environmental impacts and ensure compliance.
