Lutheran Social Services of Northern Ohio (LSSNO) was created to aggressively respond to the growing needs of northern Ohio communities. Under the umbrella of Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, LSSNO offers the following services: •  The Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Healthcare Campus   •  Lutheran Village of Ashland •  Affordable Housing for Seniors •  Homeless services/ transitional housing – providing supportive housing in partnership with homeless providers in the Ashland County homeless coalition, ACCESS. •  The Ohio Benefit Bank
LSSNO provides the following: •           Four Transitional Houses •           Case Management Services •           Ohio Benefit Bank Services •           7 Affordable Housing Complexes for low-income seniors •           Skilled and Assisted Living-The Good Shepherd and    Lutheran Village of Ashland •           Food Distribution Services  •           Holiday Meal Baskets •           Hat and Mitten Tree •           Christmas Fund
Transitional Housing   •      With the recession in full swing and unemployment at record levels, more and more people are taking to the streets…to live. This is even being seen in our rural communities. •       County housing officials say they are noting a significant increase in the homeless population.   Four safe transitional houses: •       Available to help low-income families get on their feet and gain financial  independence •       We partner with other local agencies to provide assistance for those we serve •       Case Management services provided •       Waiting list maintained
Holiday Meals/Christmas •     In 2008, LSSNO sponsored over 50 families for the Holidays who otherwise would not have had a holiday meal. •     Contacts and referrals made from both school liaisons and congregations •     This year we anticipate our need to double due to what we are already  seeing as need •      Sponsors needed for this project
LSSNO Partners with the  Cleveland Food Bank to provide  food in Ashland County
 
Volunteers/Donations •     Volunteers always needed in our Healthcare Facilities. •     Volunteers needed for food distribution every third Friday in Ashland for rest of 1 year grant cycle •     Donations are always welcome and enable us to continue our ministry.   Together, we are making a difference!
Case Management/Resource Center Available to help individuals break the barriers to finding and maintaining employment and reaching self-sufficiency through job preparation and linkage to local community resources.
SeniorFIT Program The Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Healthcare Campus offers SeniorFIT to improve the health of today's older adults by focusing on strengthening, balancing and flexibility exercises.  This program is offered to residents of TGS and the Ashland community!

All Entries in the  “express yourself in honor and hope” arts contest , a part of the  In Honor and Hope for Breast Cancer Awareness Project , will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the  Ashland County Cancer Association.
Sixth Annual Taste of Ashland Tuesday, November 10, 2009 Ashland High School Cafeteria Doors Open at 5 p.m. to view silent auction items! Food Tasting from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Live auction at 7:00  Sports tickets, autographed items, etc. Silent Auction begins at 5:00 p.m. and closes at 7:00 p.m. In Honor and Hope BCA contest entries and much more! Proceeds Benefit: Ashland County Cancer Association
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-12 years Tickets are also available at the door Sixth Annual Taste of Ashland Information Continued Tickets go on sale November 1 at: Buehler’s  – 1055 Sugarbush Drive – Ashland  and the  ACCA office  at 380 East 4 th  Street  (Frank Miller Memorial Building) ACCA hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday Over 15 area restaurants to sample, including dinner entrées, baked goods, desserts, pizza and more.  There is always plenty!  Proceeds Benefit:  Ashland County Cancer Association
