The process of working to a Commission
1. How might meetings be recorded?
The preferred method of recording the meetings would be through a tape recorder and through writing
down notes that refer to the tape recorder to ensure all the information is thoroughly recorded.
2. How might the practitioner go about generating ideas?
The practitioner would generate ideas through producing diagrams and logs of research to inspire
them to create and generate ideas for the client and there would be evidence to support the
generated ideas.
3. What information would need to be included in the proposal?
- A brief outline of the product you intend to create for the client.
- Information on the production costs, times and quality.
- A portfolio of past work to intrigue the client of your proposal.
4. Why is it important to estimate the cost of the production?
There is a budget for the practitioner to work towards so that the production becomes cost effective
for the clients, which is why it’s important to estimate the cost of the production.
5. How might the practitioner ensure that the production comes in on the budget?
The practitioner should keep a constant log of the costs each time there is a loss in the budget so that
the client as well as the practitioner can track and update the budget.
6. How might the practitioners receive feedback on their product?
The practitioner can receive feedback from the clients, their peers, the public or whoever else is liable
to offer feedback to the practitioner on the product.
7. How might the practitioner use feedback to improve their practise when working on future
commissions?
From the feedback that the practitioner receives should notice and improve on the constructive
criticism from the feedback so that there are further improvements for future commissions.
