Changing Careers
Roy: Hey Mark, why the blue look on your face?
Mark: Well, I have decided to quit my job. I will put in my notice tomorrow.
Roy: Wow! What made you come to that decision?
Mark: It was not an easy decision to make. I really like the guys there, but overall the work
was not making me happy. I feel I can get better satisfaction out of my work
somewhere else.
Roy: Your line of work does have a lot of transferable skills. I am sure you can use the
skills you developed at your current job in another field.
Mark: I definitely can. I need to find a place to work where I can be passionate about what I
do. I don’t want to be one of those people that just do the daily grind day in and
day out.
Roy: There are a lot of jobs out there these days in the tech industry.
Mark: True. I do not have the technical know-how needed to be an engineer, but with my
sales experience, I could probably sell tech products without a problem.
Roy: Well, best of luck to you Mark, I know how hard it can be to change careers at your
age. I am sure you will make the right decision.
Mark: Thanks Roy!
