New ways of communication is exploding in the non-monetized Internet Space, an example is the new Google Wave. While the traditional telecom space is making good money on Voice and SMS - 1000BUSD, but are facing competition and price erosion. Telecom and Internet communication is still very much apart, but is expected to merge in the future as more and more of the networks become all IP. Communication is a core value that cannot be taken for granted But usage is diversifying and we must address the Internet domain to build a more complete value proposition. 3.5 trillion SMS in 2008 Over 15 teraminutes of mobile voice per year Skype represents 8% of all international voice traffic 200 million active Facebook users with 30 million on their mobiles 2 million “tweets” per day on Twitter 46.5 billion IM per day in 2009 Chat Multimedia Messaging Social Presence Image Share File Transfer Video Share Voice, video telephony SMS and MMS

Ericsson’s defintion of MSR is where the radio technology can be changed only by new software. Ericsson’s definition of SDR is where the radio technology and the frequency can be changed only by new software. What some competitors call SDR we call MSR. No one can change technology AND frequency at the same time.
2008-11-12 This plot shows the average bitrate per bin over the analysis area. The average bitrate is represented in different colors where a high bitrate close to the peak rate (140 Mbps) is green while low bitrates are marked with purple. Note that 0 Mbps is shown in cyan color.. This slide includes an animation where it is possible to change the utilization from 5% to 70% and see the impact on the area bitrate when the load is increased. In general, when the load is increased the high bitrate areas (green) will decrease while the low rate areas (blue and red) will increase. However, even at the highest load there are still areas with green and yellow, i.e. high bitrates. Additional analysis shows that less than 0.2% of the area has 0 Mbps at the highest load (70%).
All these connections WILL enable MORE devices that will make it easier accessing NEW SERVICES HSPA and LTE will drive this by providing reliable access between the user, devices and services by controlling this environment with IMS and managing it with BSS new services will be launched every day. refer back to ‘Revenue Growth’ – this will put new demands on the operators that will generate more opportunities for Ericsson
