 Member nations of Latin America's Pacific Alliance trade
bloc must strengthen their relationships and keep clear of
the isolationist path represented by Britain's exit from the
European Union, Chile's foreign minister said on
Wednesday."At a time that seems dominated by the dis-
cord and disintegration brought by 'Brexit' and by the la-
mentable attack in Turkey, what we are doing is con-
structing realistic, flexible and pragmatic integration,"
Foreign Minister Heraldo Munoz said as the Pacific Alli-
ance kicked off its summit in the scenic town of Puerto
Varas.
 Dissenters to the Bank of Japan's stimulus measures re-
main a minority on its board, but their call to scrap the
timeframe for its inflation target is gaining converts and
casting doubt on the credibility of bank governor Haru-
hiko Kuroda and his broader program.In a bid to end two
decades of debilitating deflation, Kuroda began a huge
money-printing program when he took office in 2013,
tied to a two-year target to push inflation to 2 percent.
COMMODITY BUZZ
 Oil prices fell in early trade on Thursday, with Brent fu-
tures struggling to defend $50 per barrel as fears over strike
outages in Norway faded and as Nigeria's production im-
proved.International Brent crude oil futures were trading
at $50.10 per barrel at 0126 GMT, down 51 cents, or 1 per-
cent, from their last settlement. U.S. West Texas Interme-
diate (WTI) crude futures were down 38 cents, or 0.76 per-
cent, at $49.50 a barrel.
 Gold prices drifted lower in Asia on Thursday as investors
booked recent gains and awaited fresh cues on Britain's ef-
forts to navigate an exit from the European Union.On the
Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange,
gold for August delivery traded eased 0.73% to $1,317.25 a
troy ounce.Silver futures for August delivery declined
0.41% to $18.332 a troy ounce, while copper futuresfor
September delivery held flat at $2.196 a pound.
