- I have an unusual background in social work and marketing. My consultancy is focused on knowledge management and communications. I work with children and adult services in the public private and not for profit sectors. This gives me unique perspectives about the challenges and opportunities across the care sector. Fundementally people relate to people not organisations
- Whilst awareness of the London Pledge was high ~ it is less clear how the Pledge commitments have been communicated to Looked after Children. It is difficult to find the Pledge on most Local Authority websites. How many people here can confidently assert that every young person in care in their Children’s Trust has received a copy of the Pledge?
- There are a number of different and separate information systems across local authorities and the PCT’s. At least six different database systems were identified as being in use across Local Authorities and PCT’s. Related to this are the differing purposes for which data is collected, which have an impact on the consistency and comparability of the data “ This is a timely process to keep these up dated due to high number of young people living out of borough”
- The capacity of parents and carers to promote health and well being is affected by the access they have to good, local information, advice and services.
