Interaction in the Semi-Arid Watershed of Faria, Palestine” in the Third International Conference on Energy
and Environmental Protection in Sustainable Development/ICEEP 3, organized by Palestine Polytechnic
University, Hebron, Palestine.
 On September 9, 2013: I got a recommendation letter as a graduate student from Dr. Sameer M.
Shadeed, lecturer and researcher in the Water and Environmental Studies Institute at An-Najah National
University, saying that Eng. Abboushi was known to me as one of the top 5% graduate students I have
taught in the Hydrologic Processes and Systems course of water and environmental engineering master
program. Additionally, I was serving as his co-supervisor for his thesis where he showed initiative,
creativity, and commitment. Eng. Abboushi has the ability to produce impressive results in a wide variety
of areas and many complex projects where he showed a great attention to details and where quality was
never compromised. Also, during his work in the Water and Environmental Studies Institute at An-Najah
National University, he showed his ability to deliver clear, concise, and well-thought results with a new
perspective.
 On September 7, 2013: I got a recommendation letter as a graduate student from Dr. Abdel Fattah
Hasan, Chair of civil engineering department and a member in the committee of the water and
environmental engineering master program, saying that Eng. Abboushi did all his class-projects using a
proficient English language, and showed a pioneering mentality, coupled with appreciable analytical skills.
He added: Eng. Abboushi is a highly active young engineer with an open-minded personality. He was able
to manage his work individually or in group, capable to meet strict deadlines, and recognize the

 On September 3, 2013: I got a recommendation letter as a graduate student from Dr. Mohammad N.
Almasri, member of civil engineering staff and a member in the committee of the water and environmental
engineering master program, saying about himself that he has had the privilege of serving as my major
supervisor for my thesis at An-Najah National University. Also, he said that Eng. Abboushi has excellent
water-related modeling skills and of high capability in communication, presentation and working in teams.
Eng. Abboushi has been one of our hardest working graduate students during his time in our Master
program. He is a trustworthy gentleman and I strongly recommend him for any future endeavor.
 On August 8, 2013: I got a certificate of participation from the Water and Environmental Studies
Institute (WESI), An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine. This certificate is to confirm that Eng.
Abboushi took part as a supported master student on a project of UWIRA and funded by UNESCO. During
the project Eng. Abboushi gained experience in groundwater sampling and analysis and in streamflow
quantification using tracer-based methodology. Throughout the project Eng. Abboushi showed great
interest in all details and worked with endeavor and great commitment.
 On May 23, 2010: I got a recommendation letter from Dr. Mohammad N. Almasri, member of civil
engineering staff, saying that during his courses I showed exceptional academic capabilities and deep
thinking.
 On May 4, 2010: I got a recommendation letter from Inst. Dana Adas, member of English language
teaching staff- The Language Center, saying that I was one of her outstanding students in the B.A
program.
 On March 14, 2010: I got a recommendation letter from Dr. Mohammad Ghazal, member of civil
engineering teaching staff, saying that I was one of the best students he has taught during his teaching
life which reaches about 30 years.

in developing the arid and semi-arid regions, and this is based on a French website classification which

 17/8/2014 – now: Researcher Engineer in the Water and Environmental Studies Institute (WESI),
An-Najah National University on a Palestinian-Dutch joint project entitled:" Developing Agricultural Best
Management Practices to preserve the Groundwater Quality in Faria Catchment/WB - Palestine". This
project is the first attempt of its kind in Palestine.
 23/4/2014 – 15/7/2014: Storm water designer engineer at Arabtech Jardaneh Palestine

(AJP)/Ramallah/Palestine: Conducting hydrologic modeling and analyses of Tulkarem catchment in
Northern of West Bank/Palestine. The objective of this modeling is computing the design flowrates to be
used in the hydraulic design of culverts. Those design flowrates were computed through using the U.S.
Army Crops of Engineers HEC-HMS Model, and with the help of the GIS.
 22/4/2014 – 1/5/2014: Worked as a lecturer in a project conducted by the Palestinian Agricultural
Relief, funded by the European Union, and in coordination with Beir-Zeit University in both Beit Dajan and
Anza schools in northern of West Bank. In this project, many activities were cinducted concerning
wastewater treatment plants and their benefits. The main objective of this project is to raise the
awareness of school students in both villages in these things.
 16/2/2014 – 15/7/2014: Hydrologist at the Consultation Engineering Center
(CEC)/Ramallah/Palestine: Conducting hydrologic modeling and analyses of Al-Badan, Hebron and
Qabatiah catchments in Northern of West Bank/Palestine. The objective of this modeling is computing the
design flowrates to be used in the hydraulic design of culverts in both Al-Badan-Al-Nassariah road and
Qabatiah-Al-Jalameh road in Northern of West Bank/Palestine. Those design flowrates were computed

 May 21, 2013: My scientific paper titled” Developing Quantitative and Qualitative Relationships of Wadi-
Aquifer Interaction in the Semi-Arid Watershed of Faria, Palestine ” was accepted for publication in the
Third International Conference on Energy and Environmental Protection in Sustainable Development
(ICEEP 3) in Hebron, Palestine.
 2013: Performed some water and environmental consulting issues for Tulkarem Municipality.
 2010 – now: I was appointed by the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) as the Palestinian young
water ambassador, and I was the head of the Palestinian young water ambassador delegation
in the sixth international water forum which was held in Marseille/France between 12-19 of March, 2012.
 2010 – now: I became a member of the environmental club in An – Najah National University. I
participated in many activities and workshops such as: the plastic bags in Palestine: Problems and
Solutions, and the effect of global warming on the environment and water resources.
 2010 – 2011: I taught some lectures in the civil engineering department, include: Water drainage
systems and Environmental Engineering 2.
 2010 – 2013: Working as a researcher engineer in the Water and Environmental Studies Institute
An-Najah National University, Nablus-Palestine. I was working on a project titled“Impact of untreated
Wastewater on natural water bodies: Integrated Risk Assessment”. With cooperation with IHE,
And funded by UNESCO. During this project, I got experience in surface water and groundwater sampling

and analyses. We assessed the qroundwater quality in Faria catchment through getting and analyzing
samples from wells and springs located in the study area.
 2010 – 2013: Conducting many water and wastewater quality tests at the Water and environmental
Studies Institute labs at An-Najah National University.

He is a trustworthy gentleman and I strongly recommend him for any future endeavor.  On August 8, 2013: I got a certificate of participation from the Water and Environmental Studies Institute (WESI), An-Najah National University, Nablus, Palestine. This certificate is to confirm that Eng. Abboushi took part as a supported master student on a project of UWIRA and funded by UNESCO. During the project Eng. Abboushi gained experience in groundwater sampling and analysis and in streamflow quantification using tracer-based methodology. Throughout the project Eng. The objective of this modeling is computing the design flowrates to be used in the hydraulic design of culverts. Those design flowrates were computed through using the U.S. Army Crops of Engineers HEC-HMS Model, and with the help of the GIS.  22/4/2014 – 1/5/2014: Worked as a lecturer in a project conducted by the Palestinian Agricultural Relief, funded by the European Union, and in coordination with Beir-Zeit University in both Beit Dajan and Anza schools in northern of West Bank. In this project, many activities were cinducted concerning wastewater treatment plants and their benefits. I participated in many activities and workshops such as: the plastic bags in Palestine: Problems and Solutions, and the effect of global warming on the environment and water resources.  2010 – 2011: I taught some lectures in the civil engineering department, include: Water drainage systems and Environmental Engineering 2.  2010 – 2013: Working as a researcher engineer in the Water and Environmental Studies Institute An-Najah National University, Nablus-Palestine.
