  1. Disability support is for students who have physical disabilities, hearing or visual impairments, mental health issues. AERS as dyslexia but also very specific requirements – rest breaks, papers in braille etc,
  2. Screenings for students who are experiencing difficulties. After screening, if appropriate, the student is offered a full diagnostic assessment – Access to Learning Fund £50 Tutorial support covers skills needed in HE e.g. academic writing, reading rate, exams and revision, organisation and time management. AERS – give examples
  3. First point of contact in times of crisis. Students can refer themselves or their friends. First support practitioners work with students to identify what help is required and support them until it’s in place.
  4. Counselling provided for students and staff. Drop-in sessions are available throughout the year from 1-2pm every day – Wednesdays in the vacation period. Group workshops are also being planned – we’ll let you have details as soon as we know them.
  5. Most dyslexic students or students with a disability are eligible to apply for the DSA. DSA can provide ……………….. Not paid back at end of course
  6. Must register with us. Information to faculties within 2 weeks of student completing reg process with us. Memo to faculty giving outline of strengths and weaknesses – support recommended by faculty and support offered by Enabling Services as well as AERs
