- Collectively, Emcom has got 250 years of RF skills within the company. We are one of the leaders in designing professional mobile radio networks. We have the ability to specify the correct technology based on a User Requirement Specification. We always try match the technology, the legality and the costs when designing solutions We can assist in generating Functional-Specifications with mine engineers.
- Emcom has recently been awarded the maintenance contract for SAPS in KZN and Middleburg We supply solutions from exploration stage to fully functional mines, some of the larger clients include Anglo, Exxaro and BHP Billiton We have recently completed two tunnel communication projects for Transnet Freight Rail; Hex River and Sadarha
- Emcom sources products that comply to an engineering standard. With these products we can manipulate and integrate to provide customised solutions. Emcom believes that any mission critical solution need to be in a licensed regulated frequency band so therefore we do not promote supplying license-free solutions.
- We notice a trend in the market that industry is outsourcing non-core functions to specialists. We offer SLAs, maintenance agreements or fully managed services on all radio networks. This can either be done on-site or remotely with the correct technologies in place. We can offer sound un-biased input when choosing a new technology. We can provide services like network design, microwave path profiling and RF coverage predictions Emcom can also assist with integrating legacy RF equipment with new state-of-the-art digital technologies We have an R&D dept which we use to develop specific customised solutions

- Skilled RF engineers are decreasing due to RF courses not being a sexy skill like IT It is Emcom’s aim to try and keep the skill alive by actively promoting skills transfer throughout Africa. We currently run up to 14 training courses a year for Eskom, SAPS and Transnet Freight Rail We encourage you as potential customers to send suitable candidates to us for training
- RF communication is a black art which not many organisations fully understand. RF spectrum is reaching saturation and integrators and manufacturers have been tasked with identifying new technologies that can make better use of existing spectrum. Emcom has the ability to specify the correct technology to address all of your communications requirements.
