Introduction
Ever since I was a young girl, I was always proactive for the women of society. Growing up
without a father, I witnessed how my mother worked hard for our family of three siblings. Being
that fatherless child, with a struggling mother, who I empathized dearly, I had that innate sense
to stand for the other half of the social order.
When I went to a co-ed school, I recall wanting to give a voice to us girls because I noticed a
slight tilt to the balance between the sexes. Girls were thought to be more fragile (regardless if
we had talent and immeasurable creativity) while many boys were believed to be excellent in
sports and other physical statures. I continued to favor women. I believed that each one of us
must stand out and let our abilities show. And so I let those beliefs translate as I spent my years
learning. Throughout high school, I had become active in school activities and became class
president from my freshman to senior year. I wouldn’t let a boy rule over me, nor would I let
them think they had the better bargain. Between leadership roles to organizing events that
promote the skill and craft of female prowess, I studied more on women of empowerment, with
great influences from femme figures such as Florence Nightingale, Joan of Arc, and Rosa Parks.

Putting Oneself in an Introvert’s Shoes
How do you define an introvert? And more importantly, would you consider yourself one?
Introversion is an individual’s inclination of the realm within the self over the outer. Not to create
misconception as some may perceive, you don’t hate the world; you just prefer to live inside your own
most of the time, don’t you now?
Throughout this book, I will make you understand more about the characteristics of an introvert and
how they function in the world. And more significantly, if you consider yourself one, I aim to aid you in
becoming a more successful and self-confident introvert.

Identifying whether You’re Naturally Introverted
Many theories and studies over the decade have come up with methods to deduce whether one
possesses the introverted or extroverted personality trait. One theory formulated by Carl Jung (Jung
Typology) distinguishes what your behavior and preferences are most like as a person.
Here, I have taken the more well-known test that describes what your behavioral patterns are. The
descriptions below are based on Jung’s typology. This helps in identifying yourself better. Have fun!
According to Carl Jung, each individual can be described through the following criteria. Take a look at
how each is described.:
Extroversion - Introversion
Sensing - Intuition
Thinking - Feeling

The Introvert among an Extroverted Crowd
Over the last few chapters, have you slowly been able to understand yourself better as an introvert of
society? As what I want to reiterate to you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being one. See,
even the most introverted individual can overcome the fences that block them to co-mingle in a world
that holds more extroverts But you do, and you understand that that’s no problem.
However, this doesn’t imply that introverts should close their doors. Meeting new people and forming
new friendships, and being able to function with others are necessities. Psychotherapist Christine
Webber recommends that introverts should repeat certain techniques that allow them to be more
confident, such as practicing meeting somebody in front of a mirror while making eye contact.
Here, I will teach you how you can still live peacefully in an extroverted crowd while still being able to
maximize your strengths and stay comfortable in your introverted nature. No place for pity or shame,
just invaluable impact.
Already understood.

Becoming a more Sociable, and Confident Introvert
While there are several misinterpretations about introverts, this isn’t an excuse for you not to create
new, meaningful friendships among people that coexist with you in the world. Balance is the key to a
happy existence, and that includes mingling with the rest of reality - despite if you (do) have your own
time and place for conditions in life.
Small talk may be pointless to an introvert like you because it doesn’t really tackle the thought-provoking
ideas you would rather delve in about.
Exercise your niceness: Everyone likes a nice person: a polite, optimistic, and attentive one. As
someone who makes eye contact, you can be somebody worthy of a party invitation. There is a
better way in saying this.
Don’t response with one-words: Add a sentence to “Fine” when you’re asked how you’re feeling. This
usually is a good start to a decent chat.

Making Friends as an Introvert
While it may come across self-centered, introverts don’t need people as much as extroverts do. Aside
from the fact that making friends can be awkward for them, as pointed out earlier on, introverts
recharge their batteries with alone time, contrary to extroverts who get a recharge when around
others. But people are people. We need other people to beckon when we look for a comforting a
hand, a consoling shoulder, or a friend whom we can be ourselves with completely. And I bet you
would say this too. So below, I’ll be providing you some tips on how to make friends as an introvert.
Inspire Significant Dialogue.
Share more about yourself.
Develop your Social IQ.
Step outside.
