1. Raubex Construction & Raubex KZN (Pty) Ltd sponsored the
implementing, training and mentoring of 15 + 1 vegetable
tunnels for the poor & the vulnerable in Phase 7, Mangaung
Free State region. Project initiated and managed by
Spoudazo Enterprises, a registered Public Benefit
Organisation in Bfn, South Africa.

12. Beetroot, spinach and cabbage
were planted. Dry grass were
placed on the beds to protect the
seedlings from the heat, it helps to
keep the soil moist after watering
and it also helps in the restoration
process of the soil.

30. Mamojake, Thabo Raubenheimer & Enna in Mamojake’s
tunnel. This is her second season, her tunnel was setup in
October 2012. She is a mentor for 4 tunnel owners and the
overseer of all 21 tunnels in Phase 7.

31. Mamojake developed into an entrepreneur with the vegetable tunnel
opportunity. With the income from the mentoring fees and sales of her
vegetables she enlarged her house and started a small shop that sells
airtime and the basic groceries. She was the first beneficiary in Phase 7
in September 2012.

32. Certificates for the faithful caretaking of
the tunnels were handed over on 5
October 2013. This certified them as the
official owners of the tunnels.

with the caretakers of
the tunnels that they
will be awarded with

35. 7 October 2013 – A workshop for the beneficiaries was
held at Beudene Daycare for disabled teaching them how
to preserve their huge harvest of beetroot which was to
much to consume at once.

36. The friends of phase 7 were empowered with a
recipe, skills and knowledge to preserve
beetroot.

37. The residents of Phase 7 brought their own bottles and
beetroot to the workshop. They went home with 20 x
bottled beetroot and the skill to preserve the
remainder of their beetroot harvest at home.
