2.  Set up by GAA president Liam O’Neill .. to
 (1) Identify current challenges faced by GAA clubs and communities
in rural Ireland.
 (2) Identify potential solutions /actions which can be undertaken to
alleviate or lessen the difficulties faced by rural clubs and communities.
 (3) Identify agencies/other organisations with whom we can work.

3.  There are Seven people on the Committee

the values we live, enrich the lives of our members, families and
the communities we serve.
 We are committed to active lifelong participation for all. We
reach out to and include all members of our society. We promote
individual development and well-being and strive to enable all of
our members to achieve their full potential in their chosen roles.

7.  People that use the Pyramid way see Problems
 Families (parents think they’re more important than children)
 Business (Boss thinks he’s in charge and workers have to obey)
 Groups (The committee decide what to do)
 Organisations (Disconnect between the top and the bottom)

8.  People that use the Circle have Solutions
 Families (children feel listened to)
 Business (Boss get the opinions of ALL the employees)
 Groups (The committee act on behalf of the group)
 Organisations (Everyone feels connected and is happy to play
their part)

9.  There is a difference between winning and beating the opposition
 Winners want what’s best for the other team
 Winners have a desire to Win rather than a Fear of Losing

10.  We in the GAA Rural Communities Committee look
forward to exploring the possibilities of working
together with CCJ.
